I absolutely adored the film version of this one (I know, I know, a true bookworm shouldn't watch the movie first 😅, but I just couldn't help it!), and I am very excited to see how the book compares!

I've only watched the movie, so I'm with you there, Lily :) I actually didn't know about the book when I watched the film...

It seemed to be all proper and restrictive. There are no wild scenes in it.

I don't remember anything TW worthy or adult. It's been like 6 years since I've read it though...

I think there might be a little bit of language (as in, one or two words)? Overall, it's pretty clean :)

I'm not sure if I will read it this month or not, since I just reread it recently, but I'm so excited that it's one of the BOTMs! Fair warning for those of you who have only watched the movie, the book is very different. I like both, but if I had to choose a favorite it would definitely be the book. :)

Thank God, lol!! I think I like both Howl and Sophie, but goodness, I was confused a lot.

Just finished it.... gosh I love them

Just started it lol and it's already such a fun story!

i'm on chapter 7! i'm really liking it so far!

I read this a few months ago, and honestly I didn't like it. It was really weird and confusing, and I didn't like any of the characters. Some bits were funny, but the ending was anti-climactic.

Why is Howl literally the most hilarious person I've ever met?? XD

I know I'm late to the BOTM party, but I'm halfway through this book right now and honestly pretty bored...I'm almost considering DNFing. :(

I’m with you Cat. There were parts I enjoyed, but overall I didn’t care for it. Which is a shame cause the movie is one of my favorites (and the only anime I’ve ever liked).

I agree with Stephen. The movie was one of the only animes I felt connected to, but the book has just been so-so for me so far. I know lots of people who really loved it, though, so idk!

Well, I have not ever had a desire to read HMC, but I do love Jane Eyre. Intriguing.🤔
