Amy | 13090 comments Just piping in to say that I am probably reading, chosen and beautiful in December 2023 and definitely reading the covenant of water in January 1924. So neither of those are on my trim list because they’re actually happening in real time. But heaven and our grocery store is on my trim list for 2024. I have the feeling will have a nice buddy read for that one.

message 22: by Sallys (new)

Sallys | 696 comments Definitely. I reserved Covenant of Water at least twice from the library and forgot yto pick it up It's there now and I'm picking it up tomorrow so that may be my next read. I'm reading Signal Fires by Dani Shapiro right now. You would love it

message 23: by Amy (new)

Amy | 13090 comments I totally had that on my list, but given what’s happening with my mother…. I had even bought it for her as a present. I think I need to stay away from that one for quite a few years. But we will have plenty together. I know it.

message 24: by Sallys (new)

Sallys | 696 comments What's going on with your mother? I've read all your posts about your parents but I didn't know there was something wrong.

message 25: by Sallys (new)

Sallys | 696 comments I know that they're elderly and how difficult that is.

message 26: by Sallys (new)

Sallys | 696 comments I'm sorry . That was insensitive of me.

message 27: by Amy (new)

Amy | 13090 comments No worries Sally. I haven’t spoken about it more than a few times and it would be easy to miss if you weren’t on daily. My mother has steadily lost her mind, and she’s dealing with a lot of the kinds of things that signal fires talks about. It’s been going on for close to two years and it has me in tears most of the time. Oddly enough, I bought her the book as a birthday present, completely unaware that it was the exact wrong book to get. But she had loved inheritance so much, Dani Shapiro’s other book. I had given it to her when I finished it when we were in Israel and she went crazy for it so naturally, I bought the next. She’s not in acceptance about what’s happening to her and I think it’s making my father a little crazy. That was an understatement. He’s having a rough go of it. Anyway, I’ll be with them in December and Aspen but then again, I’ll also be with them when I come to New York to help them clean out the apartment. And then I will see them in February. But I’m already mapping out my spring because I have the feeling it’s going to get rougher. I’m absolutely prepared to get the call. And the call could be a lot of different things, although I have a few on my mind of what I think they might be. And I’m really psychically tuned into mid to late spring. But the call is coming. I’m ready. I just have to meet this with as much love and compassion as possible.

Sallys | 696 comments Amy- Just letting you know that I picked up Covenant of Water from the library ( finally) and plant to read it for December if you're interested. I know that you were planning on reading it in January 2024.
