Teri-K Teri from Virginia. This will be my first Jane Austen July. I've been wanting to reread Northanger Abbey and P&P, so this is great timing! Plus yesterday I received a copy of My Dear Cassandra in the mail, which has Jane's letters to her sister plus photos and other info. Now I just have to wait till July.

message 12: by Penelope (new)

Penelope | 5 comments Penelope from Australia and will definitely be joining the group for 2023.

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

Hello, I'm Karen from San Antonio, TX. I am moving out of state later this month, so I can't commit to reading the books for this year's Jane Austen July. But I will keep up with Katie's Booktube channel (Books and Things is one of my favorites) and read posts on this thread. Hopefully, next year's JAJ I can participate more fully!

message 16: by QNPoohBear (new)

QNPoohBear | 304 comments Hello there

message 19: by Helen (new)

Helen | 23 comments Hi! I'm Helen from BC, Canada and I think this is my 4th Jane Austen July. I look forward to this readathon every year now. Can't wait for all the insightful discussions!

message 20: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Bauer | 34 comments Hi, I'm Andrea from Seattle and this is my first Jane Austen July. The combination of her sometimes wicked sense of humor, the heart she brings to her novels, and her overall superb writing have made her one of my favorite authors for as long as I can remember. Pride and Prejudice and Emma are my favorites of her novels, but I love them all.

La _Dame_aux _chats | 3 comments Hi everyone! I'm Patricia from Australia. Looking forward to doing this challenge with you all!

message 22: by J (new)

J B (jname) | 2 comments Hi, I'm Janis from Washington State USA. I'm new to Austen and somewhat recently read stuff Northanger Abbey and Love and Friendship and other writings. I feel like the readalongs are going to retread through both and it might be easier to digest Austens early writing again than a whole novel I just read. I'm excited to try to finish Sense and Sensibility this July which from failing to finish before, I did have an excellent impression of. It's a long story but basically I feel like I'm new to the Austen party and I really enjoy her work I've read so far. I am spending time planning my TBR and it's exciting.

message 23: by Anastasia (new)

Anastasia (anastasia_oz) | 14 comments Hi everyone! I'm Anastasia and this is my second Jane Austen July. I had loads of fun last year, and I'm super excited about this year's readathon! I plan to participate in all readalongs and maybe complete at least one other reading challenge (and both watching challenges too). I can't wait to start :)

message 24: by Kate (new)

Kate | 2 comments Hi Everyone, I'm Kate from Hampshire, UK. This is my first time joining Jane Austen July. I've read 4 of the 6 in the past. I still need to tackle Sense & Sensibility and Mansfield Park.
Looking forward to joining this challenge.

message 25: by Jassmine (new)

Jassmine | 101 comments Hi, I'm Jassmine from Czech Republic (hi, @Zuzana! 😊). This is my first-time joining Jane Austen July. I think Austen's most superior novel is Emma, though I still didn't finished Mansfield Park and didn't get to Northanger Abbey, so who knows, maybe I'll change my mind.
My July is already a little crazy reading-wise, so I'm not sure how much I'll be able to actually join, but it would be great excuse for finally finishing Mansfield Park at least...

message 26: by Christine (new)

Christine | 8 comments Hello, I'm Christine from the UK. Attemped JAJ last year but was not able to participate, hoping life doesn't get in the way this year.

Tyler_t2d001 | 5 comments Hi everyone! Tyler from England here 😊

Never participated in JAJ before, and have only read Pride and Prejudice and Persuasion for uni before now.

Looking forward to reading some Jane Austen works for pleasure rather than to study.

Not sure how successful I'll be with Download Festival this week and then being back at work but I'm gonna give it a go!

message 30: by Liz (new)

Liz Jane Austen July?! What a brilliant idea. This is my first time participating, and I'm giddy about it. (Oh, and I appreciate all the resources included in Blatantly Bookish's JAJ announcement.)

Hi Kate, It is nice to see someone besides me might read Sense & Sensibility. I did read Mansfield Park last year and really liked it. The two I have never read are S&S and Emma.

Hey Kate, sounds good. I am not sure of my TBR yet but S&S is for sure for me. I won't make up my mind for a couple of weeks but am looking forward to seeing what else you are reading.

message 42: by Chris (new)

Chris Wise | 3 comments Christine, here from Virginia USA. This will be my 3rd Jane Austen in July. Have pulled my copy of Northanger Abbey off my shelf and expecting my copy of Jane Austen's Complete Juvenilia collection today. Both will be a first time read for me. A cup of tea and I will be all set.

message 43: by Lana (new)

Lana | 32 comments Hi! I'm Lana and this is my fourth Jane Austen July.
I read all of her main novels and I was even thinking about skipping this event this year because I have so many other books on my TBR. However, I can't help it, I just love JA July!

message 44: by Bianca (new)

Bianca Klein Haneveld | 11 comments Hi, I am Bianca and this is going to be my 2nd JAJ :-). Am really looking forward to it. May not read a lot, but will definitely be joining the Northanger Abbey-readalong - I absolutely adore that book.

message 45: by Dolores (new)

Dolores Procaccio | 1 comments Hi! I'm Dolores from San Jose, California. My first JAJ and have never read any Jane Austen books. I was enticed to join by watching Books and Things.

message 46: by Bonnie (new)

Bonnie (bonnie_poole) | 37 comments Hello Everyone, I’m Bonnie from California. I’m very excited to join in the Jane Austen Readathon. I’ve lost count how many years I’ve participated in Jane Austen July and look forward to it every year. Katie is one of the first people I discovered on youtube who presented a more structured way of reading authors and books especially the classics. This has increased my book collection and enjoyment of the classics. I enjoy rereading Jane Austen’s stories as each time I notice something I missed before. I like discovering other authors of Jane Austen’s time and pairing those mentioned in the selected novel, such as Northanger Abbey, with authors mentioned in the book. I look forward to seeing what everyone is going to read too.

message 47: by Just (new)

Just Read | 6 comments Hi all, my name is Justine and I’m from Sydney, Australia. This will be my first Jane Austen July. Looking forward to revisiting some of my favourite books!

message 48: by Anja (new)

Anja (pippimonster) | 10 comments Anja from Oregon, USA. My fifth JAJ, it gets bigger every year and I love it!
I spend much of the year thinking about what to read this month, and every year I learn more about both JA and the Regency period. Thank you so much to the organizers for structuring this event so that I can set aside time each year for the author who truly made me love books.

message 49: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Binning | 33 comments I am so excited for JA July... This is my favourite part of the year for reading. I love all things JA as she is my favourite author. I won't do all the challenges as I like to read only 1 book at a time and I am quite a slow reader, but I will definitely take part in some and do the watching challenges. Looking forward to July, will chat more to you all then 😊

message 50: by Gaby (new)

Gaby (gabyvdl) | 38 comments Hello, I'm Gaby from Germany. This will be my third Jane Austen July. I enjoyed it very much the last two years.
