There are only 3 books that have made me cry (but like we are talking absolutely ugly body racking sobs where I had to put my book down and go grab tissues because I couldn’t see anything lmao):- Tairen Soul series (can’t remember if it happened in book 3 or 4)
-House of Wolves
-Fourth Wing
I don’t really cry often about stuff that happens in books, but one that I can remember was the serpent and the wings of night the stuff that happened towards the end was so sad to me
a little life by hanya yanagihara. i remember bawling my eyes out reading it, literally sobbing. its been almost two whole years since i finished it and i still think about it. it definitely left its mark on me. i love it, tho

I wouldn’t say it like made me sob, but for a fiction book in recent memory, Slaughterhouse Five. I didn’t expect the themes to be so philosophical, and there were a few lines in there that hit me like a gut punch. “[The aliens] would advise Billy to concentrate on the happy moments of his life, and to ignore the unhappy ones-to stare only at pretty things as eternity failed to go by.”One that did make me sob is a non-fiction memoire called Spilled Milk about a girl growing up in an abusive household and how she healed as an adult. Heavy trigger warning, would recommend you look up triggers before reading!
As of today, the book that’s made me cry the most is A Court of Wings and Ruin. I cried so much when the pages neared the end 😭
All Quiet on the Western Front- literally I felt like I was there during the war the whole book. If you like history and to traumatize yourself it’s a solid read.

ME EITHER!! That one death really ended me :(
Page 666 of A Court of Wings and Ruin. I had to take a moment because my crying made the page too blurry to read
definitely kingdom of ash. my sister read it a year before i did, and i heard her crying through the wall one night, went into her room, and saw her absolutely sobbing with the book in her lap. flash forward to me reading it a year later, walking into her room sobbing over the same part.
Kingdom of Ash had me crying hard and most recently CC1. Both parts were about friendship and sacrifice and love.
okay so, i kinda cry easily when it comes to books however these are the ones that have made me cry/effected me the most...- the song of achilles
- kingdom of ash
- crooked kingdom
- how to make friends with the dark
- if he had been with me
The first 200 pages of the house of earth and blood destroyed me I literally made me fell as empty as Bryce during that time 🤧🤧
Not fantasy, but definitely A Man Called Ove. I've never cried that much from a book, before or after.
A court of wings and ruin - I don’t ever really cry over books but I was lying in bed listening to the audiobook when * spoiler* Rhys died and I did actually cry
- A Court of Wings and Ruin- The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue
- The Seven Year Slip
- The Midnight Library
- Kingdom of Ash
- The Dead Romantics
Listed in no particular order - I sobbed reading every single one of them 🥹
Assassin's Blade, The Ballad of Never After, and many more lol
