rudimentary: Illyana is on the quiet side although that doesn't mean she's cold, in fact she is a kindhearted person always willing to help someone in need. She has a defiant streak but it rarely shows itself thanks to her family although it's been coming out more recently as she's grown into herself and become more confident and independent. She's witty and clever, seeing the logical side of things before anything else, usually putting feelings aside to do so without even realizing she's done it (another reason people see her as cold).

family: Norman DeLille and Roksana Drozdov, the firstborns of two renowned the pure-blood families, the DeLille's in Great Britain and the Drozdov's in Russia. The Drozdov line is one of the oldest and largest wizarding families based in Russia to this day, while the DeLille's are smaller and slightly younger yet probably purer in blood because of it, the Drozdov's also rarely disown members of the family though they don't associate with those that marry non-magical or muggle-born people but they are known to take back family members that choose to return. Their families arranged the marriage and Roksana was sent to Great Britain. The two had five children together, four daughters and one son.
childhood: Illyana was born to Katerina DeLille and Alexander Levant, a pure-blood and a muggle-born, bring disgrace upon her mother. Fortunately rather than disown Katerina the DeLille's simply cut her off after giving her the chance to divorce her muggle-born husband and return home with her young daughter, Katerina of course refused and was the first to cut off contact with her family. And so Lya grew up with her parents and never met her mother's side of the family until her father died when Illyana was nine and her mother relocated the three of them (Katerina, Illyana and her younger sister Natalya) to the DeLille manor which could be home to around two dozen or more of the DeLille's at any given time. The DeLille family took Katerina and her two daughters in with much grumbling but didn't turn them away under the condition that Katerina turn back to the old ways and the DeLille-Levant girls do the same. Consumed by grief and desperation, Katerina agreed and so began the girls new lifestyle.
school years: As Illyana neared school age there was much debate and attempted indoctrination among the family about whether or not she would be sorted into Slytherin like the rest of them or take after her father and be sorted Ravenclaw. Sure enough, Lya became the first non-Slytherin of the DeLille line. But, while they would have preferred her to be in Slytherin, what her mother's pure-blood side of the family find more undesirable is the fact that she's a half-blood and refused to believe in pure-blood supremacy although they used to ignore it until her sorting in the hopes that she would "turn out alright". Ever since then she's done her best to avoid that part of the family preferring her father's muggle side on the rare occasions she's able to sneak off to see them but it's hard to avoid them when she lives in the DeLille manor. She is however close with her aunt who's also a bit detached from the rest of the family and works as the Astronomy teacher at Hogwarts, and her cousin Vera who surprisingly was the only other one to stick by her despite being one of the family's golden children.
future: Illyana achieves her ambition to become a curse breaker but also decides to go down a different path as well, an investigator for a privately owned business that works all over the world. This means she occasionally goes on her now normal curse breaking trips with her aunt during her summer holidays as well as a few of her own throughout the year whenever she doesn't have a case.

rudimentary: Karina is easy going and calm under pressure, able to think on the spot and doesn't panic or get flustered easy. She's very clever and cunning and likes to solve mysteries and finding and discover new things which is what led her to become a curse breaker. Another thing her job provided that Karina loves is to travel and see the different peoples and cultures, learning from them in the process. She's very observant both out of curiosity and wariness but the trait serves her well in both her jobs. As a Hogwarts professor her patience and overall calm yet fun demeanor makes her likable to her students, she also listens to them and her classroom is a very open area where they can ask questions or discuss topics without having to worry about getting into trouble even if the topic is as far from astronomy as could be.

family: One of the four daughters of Norman DeLille and Roksana Drozdov, the firstborns of two renowned the pure-blood families, the DeLille's in Great Britain and the Drozdov's in Russia. Their families arranged the marriage and Roksana was sent to Great Britain. The two had five children together, four daughters and one son, all but one were born in Russia as Roksana would travel home as her due date drew near. The Drozdov line is one of the oldest and largest wizarding families based in Russia to this day, while the DeLille's are smaller and slightly younger yet much purer in blood because of it. The Drozdovs are known to rarely disown members of the family though they don't typically associate with those that marry non-magical or muggle-born or otherwise disgrace their name, however they are known to take back family members that choose to return and said to be one of the more open minded yet traditional pure families (this is most likely due to Russia being one of the accepting countries, examples of this can be seen in the treatment and acceptance of muggleborns, magical creatures and being, halfbreeds, among others). So while the direct line as been kept pure in accordance to tradition, the offshoots have been known to marry muggleborns or halfbreeds as long as the person is seen as acceptable in moral, belief and overall stature. So while the Drozdovs don't exactly believe in blood superiority in the way that Western European families do, they believe in a form of status more akin to tradition. The DeLilles however are known to be harsh and like most of the British families will not stand for association of any kind. As stated above the Drozdovs are believed to have placed more than one of the Moscow Princes in power starting in the 1200s and up until Ivan the Great’s reign in the 1400s, there are records of Drozdovs being advisors to said princes or priests but never having assumed any places of power themselves and always worked behind the scenes. In recent times, they still have a grip in the non-magical Russian government and military but most of their power is now in the magical world since magic is no longer believed in by the non-magical community.
childhood: Karina was born as one of the five children of Norman DeLille and Roksana Drozdov. That being said she was the daughter born after her parents only son and often her and her younger sister were looked down upon, if not for the mentioned reason then because they didn’t seem to be as ambitious (at least not in ways that were expected).
school years: But Karina soon gained a place in her parents eyes when she quickly became top of her class and possibly year at Hogwarts due to her cleverness which had seemed like a nuisance before. However, it just as quickly became clear that Karina had no desire to bring her family pride or any of the other things her parents wanted from her, usually the odd one out in Slytherin house she tended to stick to herself or her friends outside her house with very few inside Slytherin.
adult life: After she graduated with top marks in the areas she needed, she went on to become a curse breaker for Gringotts and traveled the world for them for seven years, going to places like China, Egypt, the Amazon and America (where she befriended a wampus cat after rescuing him from a trap in Florida). She stayed in America for an entire year, living and working with several Native American tribes during that time. Karina also acted as an ambassador and interpreter for goblins and merpeople as well as the occasional spynx. Karina is currently the only of her siblings to not reside in the DeLille Manor at least part time and is also the only one not married (although her younger sister Emiliya has been separated for a few years now and her older sister Katerina has been a widow for several years).
teaching career: She was later offered the job as the Astronomy professor at Hogwarts which she eagerly took since it was always one of her favorite classes as a student. Her family did not like her quitting her job to teach (not that they liked her other job either but connections to Gringotts had been enough for it to be grudgingly accepted) but she has now been at Hogwarts for three years and travels as a free-lance curse breaker during the summer holiday, usually taking her niece with her.

rudimentary: Lilith is well enough known since she's the Slytherin seeker and head duelist for the dueling club but she’s also made a name for herself as a duelist outside school as she's been to a few tournaments over the summer, her family also has several professional quidditch players including her father (who retired) and the family business of magical remedies and potions. Lilith has all-around excellent grades which can be credited to the two Slytherin traits of cleverness and ambition which have served her well in life so far. She is respectful thanks to her up bringing in a family of status but Lilith can also be sarcastic at times and does tend to speak her mind so she's either a professor's favorite or least favorite student with little in between. She’s quick thinking and cool under pleasure, both help her in class and on the quidditch pitch as well as in duels. Extremally loyal to those she cares for, she doesn't let people in easy so expect one chance, if you blow your one chance she's very unlikely to let you back in. Lilith is very determined and hardworking, she prefers to stay busy and doesn’t like to idle around doing nothing. While like her sister in a lot of ways they somehow have managed to follow complete opposite paths.

childhood: Born to Rowan and Mara Araceli in the Araceli Manor on the Scotland coast. The Araceli’s being a well-known pureblood family, Lilith had what you would call a cushy childhood, she was loved by her parents and later her younger sister, they were wealthy and had influence in the Ministry and dependable family in other countries as well as stable jobs for her parents and the family business of potions and magical plants and remedies. So in short, they never struggled like a lot of families did. at the time. But tgat didn’t change the fact that Lilith never fit in. She loved her family of course and tried her best to live up to what they wanted for her but it always ended up with her having to put her own beliefs and ambitions aside. One of the few things she didn't have to try to enjoy or live up to was her father's side's talent and love for quidditch and it's always been a tradition for Lilith and father to go the World Cup each year (which her father gets free tickets to thanks to connections from his time as a professional player and his current job). However thing started going downhill a bit when Lilith was ten and her mother fell sick. She was looked after by the family for some time to no avail, then she taken to a healer in London but still nothing came of it. At this point Lilith’s father retired from his career as a professional quidditch player and took a Ministry job in the Department of Magical Games and Sports- which he kept even after Lilith's mother was allowed to resume her normal life slightly better but still with no cure. It’s known that unless a cure is found that Lilith’s mother will die at some point, almost guaranteed before the age of 50, which is knowledge that spurs both of Mara’s daughters to attempt to find said cure.
school years: Unlike most other pure-blood families, the Araceli's weren't confined to one house in Hogwarts and instead had a scattered mix of all four (with others in other schools in different countries being just as mixed), so the sorting of new children within the family was more of a spectacle for betting and guessing who would get the child in their house rather than a way to see if you truly belonged in the family like some others view it. That being said it didn't come as much of a shock when Lilith was sorted into Slytherin and her sister into Hufflepuff despite her parents being a Gryffindor and a Ravenclaw. When she began her schooling at Hogwarts she was surprised to find that her best classes were transfiguration and defense against the dark arts which apart from her father's talent in transfiguration were relatively unheard of in her family who tended to lean more towards herbology and potions rather than wandwork with charms being one of the more common acceptations. But what was even more surprising and frighting was when Lilith found out she had a natural gift for the dark arts, which until her fifth year she avoided out of fear only caving and taking lessons in her sixth after several promptings from one of her favorite professors and a near accident, and even then it only started as a way for her to learn how to control it. Lilith was picked up by the quidditch team as seeker in her second year and she almost immediately got into a rivalry with another second year pickup, Lance Bexley who later that year would become her friend. She joined the dueling club in her second year as well, becoming the Slytherin head duelist in her fifth year. During the summer she met an Unspeakable at one of the duels and after several conversations and half answered questions Lilith decided that that would be the career path she would follow which has led to a completely full schedule of classes on top of her extra curricular activities, but she prefers the busyness and still excels in all her classes.
future: After graduating Hogwarts as one of the top students Lilith turns down all offers to play for professional quidditch teams and instead becomes an Unspeakable for the Department of Mysteries in the British Ministry of Magic. Not long after she secretly joins Grindelwald's cause after some years of being curious and quickly begins rising in his ranks partly due to her position in the Ministry. After being revealed as one of his followers in 1931, Lilith then becomes a true follower and travels as one of his acolytes. Her family hating to believe this is so don’t disown her but clearly don’t support her and most reluctantly cut ties, not a huge feat as Lilith did this mostly on her own.

rudimentary: Natalya is incredibly determined and strong willed, she won't back down from a fight and likes to have fun even if it means breaking some rules, although she's skilled at avoiding being caught when she is it's not hard for her to get out of it. She can be seen as cruel and uncaring sometimes but in truth she cares too much which results in her attempting to live up to her family's impossibly high standards. Tally is smart and cunning but tends to downplay it even if her grades are excellent, but having her cunning underestimated comes in useful and allows her to trick a person without them even realizing it. She can be bold and even considered cocky or arrogant at times but for the most part she's usually pretty chill and it's all a front. She works hard to overcome it, and succeeds when left to her own devices, but she's insecure and stresses a lot over almost everything. Natalya isn't afraid to speak her mind (unless around her family) and will stand up for her beliefs and those she cares about with a passion. It's incredibly hard to gain her trust enough to be considered one of these few close people but once you do reach that point Tally would do anything for you.

While Illyana was old enough to keep from the attempted indoctrination, Natalya was not, and the DeLille's were able to "correct" her parents apparent failures in her. This of course drove a rift in the sisters' relationship, as did Illyana being sorted into Ravenclaw and all but abandoning everything Tally had been taught to believe. This turn of events also put a lot of pressure on Natalya to see if she, like her sister, would take after the father she didn't even remember that well. It helped that Tally had clear Slytherin traits of course and actually fit in well in the family but the pressure still negatively shaped her. The only person who truly seemed to be on her side was her cousin Rafail DeLille-Castor who was the same age as her.
school years: After those three years of waiting when Natalya was indeed sorted into Slytherin with Rafail things got drastically better. They kept improving as Tally thrived in her house and classes, showing great promise for the future and she was finally wholeheartedly accepted by the DeLille's as one of their own. This was just more to separate her from her sister although they've tried to mend their relationship but still aren't incredibly close. Her school years have been going better and better and actually helping her to mend whatever it was her family damaged, but she still feels the pressure to constantly be better which has pushed her to work harder.

childhood: The second born daughter of the semi-famous Rowan and Mara Araceli, Rosemary was born in the Araceli Manor on the Scotland coast. Even before she was accepted into Hogwarts it was obvious that Rosemary was going to live up to the family name and business of potions and magical remedies. She loved brewing with her mother who would task her with fetching ingredients from the manor's many gardens and greenhouses and Rosemary would race outside to find them as quick as she could like a game. But when Rosemary was eight and Lilith ten, their mother fell sick and their father retired from his career as a professional quidditch player and took a Ministry job in the Department of Magical Games and Sports so he could be around more and work from home if he had to- which he kept even after Lilith's mother was allowed to resume her normal life slightly better but still with no cure. It was this that truly convinced Rosemary she wanted to become a healer.
school years: Her time at Hogwarts hasn't been quite as thrilling as her sister's but she knows that it's necessary if she wants to get an apprenticeship as a healer, although she does love the friends she's made and the different point of view in herbology than she sees back home. Her sister Lilith made her learn self-defense spells and hexes which in her first and second years which was how they learned she had a natural talent for charms and was actually more than decent in duels, so of course Lilith tried to convince her to join the Hufflepuff dueling club team but Rosemary turned her down so many times that she eventually gave up. In her third year she requested to be taught healing as an elective even though it wasn't normally one as charms and potions usually covered the basics but her wish was granted and she now helps in the hospital wing regularly.
future: Rosemary goes on to apprentice as a healer in France and stays there even after her apprenticeship is over to begin her career as a healer there. She later takes over as the head of the family business when offered to by her father.

childhood: Born in Ireland, Verity grew up neglected by her parents, too focused on their own work and success to pay any attention to their daughter, so she learned how to fend for herself at a young age which she did for several years. But when word of her situation slipped to a few people within the family, her supposedly odd great uncle who was shunned for marrying a muggle-born woman, came and took her in for a few months. Unfortunately, when her parents returned from their work trip and realized that their daughter was gone it didn't take much asking to find out where she was and they promptly took her back for a reason Verity still can't guess. She now knows her uncle was "politely threatened" about taking her again, but he came back for her anyway when they left again. Since then, Verity basically lives with him in Dublin whenever she can and grew to love him like the father she didn't have. He later also took in his grandson Roran, Verity's cousin, after his parents died in the muggle's war and the two became like siblings. Although she always came back to her parents' house before they got home. Verity thinks they must know she leaves to go live with her great uncle when they’re gone but they must not care as long as she’s subtle about it. And she is, most people must believe her parents send her there so she’s looked after and treat her like any other neighborhood kid, as if she belongs there and didn’t run away- which adds to her parents apparently caring reputation so they never bring it up. Her times living with her uncle Senan were the best she’s ever had and finally made her feel like she had a home and a family. Her uncle is an alchemist by trade who apprenticed with Nicolas Flamel among other experienced alchemists when he was young and traveled but loves all sorts of topics and was always up for letting Verity or Roran pick his next experiment and do it with him, sometimes they would make games out of it and see who could find the solution to a problem first.
school years: Verity was almost reluctant to go to school since she was already being taught most things by her uncle and even tried to convince him to homeschool her but in the end she knew her parents wouldn’t allow it and might somehow keep her from seeing him she pushed them too far and Roran talked her into going with him. So, she was sorted into Ravenclaw and her cousin into Hufflepuff and after her first year she grew to like Hogwarts even if she would have preferred homeschool.

childhood: Born with the name Alessandra Maria Sole on that one extra day during the leap year, she was born into a religious family in Italy but wasn't so lucky that her's was a good one. Her parents were always more worried about what other people thought rather than what God did and it showed in their household, though it was always seemingly nonexistent elsewhere. This was a fine childhood for Alessandra as long as she behaved, that was until her magic started showing. At first they thought it was just strange coincidences but by the time Alessandra was six it became obvious that the magic was coming from her and an accident involving several people witnessing her harmless magic resulted in the family picking up and moving to London. Little Alessandra was of course too young to understand but her parents apparently thought she wasn't too young to try to banish whatever evil their daughter had through "discipline". It is possible she had magical relatives back in Italy but in any event none ever came to her rescue. The Sole's weren't in London for much longer than a year when their plan to purify their daughter backfired with the houseplants trying to attack them which was reported to the British Ministry of Magic by their magical neighbor. It wasn't long before the Magical Reversal Squad in the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes showed up to fix things. After much debate, one of the Ministry workers made the decision to do the right thing despite it not being standard protocol and brought young Alessandra back to the Ministry with them. The Wizengamot surprisingly didn't take long to decide on the situation, realizing that Alessandra was at risk of developing an Obscurus should she stay with her biological parents. Seven years old at the time Alessandra was then given the choice of being placed in an orphanage or fostered by the Ministry worker who had rescued her (and her parents); she chose the latter not wanting to be stuck in a muggle orphanage after just discovering the magical world and already being rather fond of Riley Quinton who got legal custody of her not long after the incident. The Sole's ended up obliviated and childless (forever as far as they know), moving back to Italy and having another child shortly after who was watched for magical signs by the Italian Ministry of Magic but he was deemed magicless. Her life from then on was better than the young girl could have imagined, she was accepted and surrounded by people like her who loved her, taught that having magic wasn't a bad thing. Soon enough the Quinton's were the only family she cared to call as such, and she was officially adopted at age nine. Her birthparents were banished from her mind as best they could be after the trauma she went through, and she never speaks of them if she can help it and never intends to see them again even though they wouldn't remember her although she has been debating contacting her brother when he’s older. Her path to accepting her magic and not suppressing it has been a process but one hard won and she now uses her narrow escape from becoming an Obscurial to further fight prejudice blood purity standards and promote equality as muggle-borns are at risk.
school years: Her acceptance into Hogwarts was a time of celebration for the family, as was her sorting into Hufflepuff which was her grandmother's (Marilynn's) house during her time at Hogwarts. Even after four years of living and interacting with witches and wizards as well as visiting Diagon Alley and the Ministry of Magic on a regular and helping her Gramma Mari run the apothecary Alessandra was still not prepared for what life at Hogwarts would be like. She quickly adapted though and learned at the rapid pace that only eager youth manages to. However, it wasn't long before her "rebellious" tendencies showed themselves and she found herself in detention regularly- the main reason being she was acting like, well an activist. This was caused by Alessandra witnessing one too many muggle-borns or half-bloods being bullied for their blood not being "pure" and the Headmaster not doing anything to stop it but rather encouraging and agreeing with it. It really is a miracle she made it to her seventh year without being expelled when the current Headmaster of the school is, in her words, "a self-righteous misanthropic bastard" among other things. She successfully convinced her adoptive father to apply for the posotion of Herbology professor during the summer after her first year at Hogwarts, claiming that he had the same job for twenty years and it was about time he did something else. Alessandra joined the Hufflepuff Quidditch Team as a beater in her third year which is how she originally met her lover Ezekiel Drakongaze. She had steady grades in all her core classes as well as the extra curricular ones she had picked up and even managed to pick up advanced Transfiguration and Arithmancy in OWL year as well as being given the position of Prefect (which came a slight surprise due to her activist nature but well deserved because of her leadership skills and willingness to help others and be fair). childhood: Riley had a better than decent childhood for a half-blood. His magical mother married a muggle man and was accepted by him when she confessed to being a witch just before they were married and he later was happy when their son showed signs of being magic like his mother, he was also rather fascinated by anything in their world he came across. The Quinton's were well enough off with Riley's mother owning an apothecary hidden in London and his father working as an engineer and locksmith. From a young age Riley loved to tag along with his father or help his mother around the shop.
school years: Sorted into Ravenclaw after being accepted at Hogwarts he lived up to his house's traits and turned out to be a well-rounded student with obvious existing knowledge and promise in herbology and potions as well as an interest in charms although he liked the more hands-on classes. His social life at school was decent and his friendly demeanor earned him plenty of friends while the sarcastic "know-it-all" attitude he sometimes had gained him enemies.
adult life: His life outside Hogwarts began in London where it started and Riley got a Ministry job in the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes as part of the Reversal Squad. Then of course still helped his mother around the shop whenever she wanted or needed it. His Ministry job however is how he found his adopted daughter since it was when a muggle family's magical neighbor called in that he was sent to investigate. What he found was not at all what he was expecting with the muggle parents seeming to have mistreated their young daughter who retaliated (accidentally) but turning the houseplants savage so that they attacked her parents. In the end he obliviated the muggles and took the problem (and the girl) to the Wizengamot, coming out with custody of seven-year-old Alessandra Sole thanks to her being deemed at risk of developing an Obscurus in her current situation. Whether he meant for it to happen like that or not, it was still probably the best thing he'd done with his life and Alessandra fit right in with the Quinton's.
teaching career: It was Alessandra that convinced him to apply for the position of Herbology professor at Hogwarts when she was about to enter her second year, claiming that he'd had the same job for twenty years and it was about time he did something else. He eventually relented assuming he wouldn't get the job anyway, which of course didn't happen because Riley has now been a Hogwarts professor for five years and quickly realized he loved teaching.

His parents and younger sister died in the early years of the muggle war before they were able- or even thought to evacuate. All three were killed during the first year of the muggle war, leaving nine-year-old Roran an orphan, loud sounds will remind him of the artillery fire. He was taken in by his grandfather, an alchemist and inventor in Dublin, who had also partially taken in Roran's cousin Verity. The two had never met before as Roran's grandfather Senen had been shunned by Verity's side for marrying a muggle-born woman, but the two became fast friends and eventually were as close as siblings. Roran loved going with his grandfather whenever he had jobs that took him to other countries and would always ask for stories about his travels.

From there they parted ways until catching the same ship back to Europe which they both found an amusing coincidence. They traveled together for a few years after that before getting married in Japan both twenty-three at the time. They were married for two years before they were expecting, twin sons were born just days after their ship landed in America. Sadly, Cyril’s brother had been killed a year prior and so the twins took his name as their middle name in remembrance of him.

She was always close with her younger brother (who had been adopted just after Mercy turned one and the family had crossed the border into the Brazilian part of the Amazon) as they had the smallest age gap of just a few months but she grew close with her older brother Silas as well just in a different way. Her and her older brother Leveticus on the other hand clashed regularly though they still have that sibling love. She was a bit of a troublemaker as a child which came as a bit of a surprise for her parents since her older brothers were rather well behaved with Luca being moderately so too. Mercy was a wild child and has always loved the outdoors and traveling, which worked out because both of her parents were mazoologists and the family was always moving around for their work; this is how she managed to get her quetzalcoatl quill wand in Mexico on a short trip back with her father. She always preferred the warmer places like New Zealand and Greece as well as Mexico and Peru but grew to love Europe as well. If she had to pick somewhere to call home it would probably be either Peru (as it's where she was born and spent the most time in South America) or Germany because it's her mother's homeland and where they made their homebase in Europe after her mother had a difficult pregnancy with the youngest set of Castell twins shortly after coming back to Europe. Because she spent her early childhood in South America, Mercy is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese plus German which Helena taught all her children, so she's really not sure what to call her first language but tends to fall back on Portuguese whenever she’s distressed, angry or just tired, so it’s sort of her default language.
school years: There was some debate as to which school the Castell children would attend as Cyril was London born while Helena was German plus they had lived in both North and South America for quite a while, but in the end they let their children decide. It wasn't much of a decision for Mercy once her choices were narrowed down to just the European schools and her older brothers chose Hogwarts, and so she was sorted into Gryffindor. Mercy immediately took a liking to herbology and showed a lot of knowledge about plants from her time traveling. childhood: Born in New York, Leviticus and his (younger) twin brother Silas were the first of six children and born just two days after their parents' ship docked in America. From there it was constant moving until their younger sister and later brother were born but even then they only stayed in one place for a year at most. The family spent most of their time in South America, with sort trips to the North America, until going back to Europe when the twins were seven. While they still traveled and moved almost constantly the Castells made a homebase in Germany, their mother's homeland, after she had a difficult pregnancy with the youngest set of Castell twins shortly after coming back to Europe. Leviticus quickly grew to love Europe. Not even a year later she ran away and was picked up by the very same gang that her father had worked for, luckily for her, it actually worked out and she had a new home and a job plus free reign of the city under the protection of the Delphinium.
school years: Lena wasn’t sure if she would be accepted into Ilvermorny thanks to both her father’s and her own criminal records (although she didn’t have much more than leaving the orphanage, pickpocketing she’d been caught for and being suspected of running Delphinium messages). But she was accepted and Lena was chosen for both Wampus and Horned Serpent, choosing Wampus for herself. It quickly became clear she fit in perfectly in her house and was learning at a rapid pace (in the subjects that interested her), becoming a top student and joining several clubs, even winning a few dueling tournaments. Of course the teachers knew what her situation was and even offered to accept her into the program that would allow her stay at school during the summer (created for orphans and students with no-maj parents who didn’t accept them), but she refused and would go back to orphanage each year only to not even bother going inside and unpacking her things and staying one night before heading back to Delphinium territory. It was during the summers that she learned dark magic among other things although she never got caught using it on school property and always followed Ilvermorny’s dueling code during term.
adult life: Now a full fledged member of the Delphinium, Lena picked up where she had left off and quickly became a prominent and trusted member of the gang. Part of this was due to her being a member since she was young, but it probably helped that the young man who had taken her in as a little sister when she had first joined was now the head of the gang. She was constantly tasked with all sorts of things from handoffs, to securing deals, to tracking down people who owed money or had otherwise angered her boss. She eventually became a rather well-known bounty hunter in the North American underworld as well as picking up a nice win record in illegal dueling ran by the Delphinium and other magic gangs. Now eight years after graduating from Ilvermorny and seventeen years after she threw in her lot with the Delphinium, Lena is pretty much set for life and allowed to leave the gang whenever she wishes but stays out of loyalty and familiarity, the gang is basically the closest thing to family she has with her boss having been the young heir who had just taken over when she first joined and now one of the very few people she trusts. However recently things have gone downhill a bit on the western coast. First there was the politician who tried to make California their own wizard country who ended up killed by the very werewolves who supported him when a mysterious curse turned the moon full. Then the emergence of Grindelwald in the American wizarding underworld, who was accepted by most. Lena however always tried to stay out of politics on a large scale and so avoided most of the first situation but unfortunately is being drawn in now as Grindelwald’s movement grows. She has recently entered into a relationship with a Mexican witch named Mabel Ledezma whom she met when she was on a bounty job, unknown to either of them, they were after the same bounty although Mabel isn’t normally a hunter and works more a spy behind the scenes, gathering information or going undercover for the wizard gang in Tijuana that acts as one of six sects with the other two larger ones being in Monterrey and Mexico City. It also helps that Mabel is a Seer, albeit a somewhat weak one who rarely has visions but simply seems to have an uncanny knack for knowing what's going to happen next.
teaching career: This being her first year of teaching, Lena took the job solely as a cover for tracking down an old school and work friend, now her latest bounty after he up and disappeared upsetting several powerful people in the magical underground of America. She managed to secure the position at Hogwarts last minute and already having tracked him to Europe, had only to apply and wait until term started. But even the position of bounty hunter is a cover for this job when in truth she was tasked to discreetly bring him back to the States in order for him to meet Grindelwald for a reason unknown to her.

family: The Castell name does not come from magical roots as Cryil’s father was a muggle of Irish descent. Cyril’s mother however came from a prominent but dying pure-blood family that was originally from Scotland but had recently moved to the London area. They met when they were sixteen when Ruth was in County Cork during the summer holidays for an apprenticeship, they fell in love that summer but had only letters to converse after she was forced to leave to finish her schooling. After that they saw each other but not much, Madison learned she was a witch when she confessed at what she had assumed would be their last meeting. Madison hadn’t pushed her away and in fact thought it explained a lot and that was the night they decided to ask her parents permission to marry. Her parents approved and the newly married couple moved into a small apartment in London at the age of twenty-four. It was several years before the couple had children, two boys barely over a year apart and both magical. The two brothers were very close growing up. Cyril, the younger was placed in Hufflepuff and became a mazoologist specialized in healing, while Marcel was sorted into Gryffindor and became an auror. Nineteen year old Cyril met Helena Dietrich in East Africa. A German witch graduated from Durmstrang and now a mazoologist specialized in dangerous creatures of all kinds. She had found an injured Nundus but wasn’t able to heal it on her own, and so had gone looking for someone more specialized to help. However everyone had turned her down when she told them exactly what they would be healing, everyone except Cyril who had been doomed from the moment he first met Helena. When asked what his payment would be he simply said the adventure was payment enough and it would look incredibly impressive on his record. From there they parted ways until catching the same ship back to Europe which they both found an amusing coincidence. They traveled together for a few years after that before getting married in Japan both twenty-three at the time. They were married for two years before they were expecting, twin sons were born just days after their ship landed in America. Sadly, Cyril’s brother had been killed a year prior and so the twins took his name as their middle name in remembrance of him.
childhood: Born in New York, Silas and his (older) twin brother Leviticus were the first of six children and born just two days after their parents' ship docked in America. From there it was constant moving until their younger sister and later brother were born but even then they only stayed in one place for a year at most. The family spent most of their time in South America until going back to Europe when the twins were ten. While they still traveled and moved almost constantly the Castells made a homebase in Germany, their mother's homeland after she had a difficult pregnancy with the youngest set of Castell twins shortly after coming back to Europe. While Silas and his twin Leviticus are obviously close, Silas is actually closer with his younger sister Mercy and growing up Silas was always getting into trouble with her simply because she would drag him along, but he was actually very respectful and well behaved when it came down to it. Probably the closest with his mother, he grew to love helping her with her work and is probably the only of the four eldest Castell children that will follow in his parents steps and become a mazoologist.
school years: Silas' parents had always assumed that he would take after his father and be sorted into Ravenclaw, this was not the case as the Sorting Hat placed him in Slytherin after only a few seconds hesitation. ancestry: Vera is the granddaughter of Norman DeLille and Roksana Drozdov, the firstborns of two renowned pure-blood families, the DeLilles in Great Britain and the Drozdovs in Russia, the two had five children together, four daughters and one son. The Drozdov line is one of the oldest and largest wizarding families based in Russia to this day, while the DeLille's are smaller and slightly younger yet much purer in blood because of it. The Drozdovs are known to rarely disown members of the family though they don't typically associate with those that marry non-magical or muggle-born or otherwise disgrace their name, however they are known to take back family members that choose to return and said to be one of the more open minded yet traditional pure families (this is most likely due to Russia being one of the accepting countries, examples of this can be seen in the treatment and acceptance of muggleborns, magical creatures and being, halfbreeds, among others). So while the direct line as been kept pure in accordance to tradition, the offshoots have been known to marry muggleborns or halfbreeds as long as the person is seen as acceptable in moral, belief and overall stature. So while the Drozdovs don't exactly believe in blood superiority in the way that Western European families do, they believe in a form of status more akin to tradition. The DeLilles however are known to be harsh and like most of the British families will not stand for association of any kind. As stated above the Drozdovs are believed to have placed more than one of the Moscow Princes in power starting in the 1200s and up until Ivan the Great’s reign in the 1400s, there are records of Drozdovs being advisors to said princes or priests but never having assumed any places of power themselves and always worked behind the scenes. In recent times, they still have a grip in the non-magical Russian government and military but most of their power is now in the magical world since magic is no longer believed in by the non-magical community.
parentage: Second born of the eldest daughter of the DeLille family, Tatiana, and her husband Merom Castor. Merom was given the choice by his parents to choose his wife and having interacted with Tatiana at events throughout the years and finding her to be the picture of a pure-blood witch from a noble line, he approached her and her parents after her seventeenth birthday and requested to court her. Courting lasted around eight months and the two were engaged during the Christmas holidays of her seventh year of school and married shortly after her graduation. Their first child, a son, followed just a year later. The two were both successful in life, separately and together, and their family grew yet again with the birth of their daughter in the fifth year of their marriage and their second son and final child two years later.
childhood: Vera was raised to be (in her mother's view) the perfect version of a pure-blood witch. Her father was almost never around and even when he was they had no desire to interact with each other. She was never particularly close with older brother Roman either but they were very competitive growing up although their three year age gap meant that the odds were not in her favor most of the time, but she made up for it with her determination. Vera was very fond of her younger brother though, as well as her grandmother even if she was rather stern sometimes. As a child Vera was very spirited and rather wild, not seeing much sense in the way things were done in the manor, which was of course frowned upon and Vera punished by her mother although her grandmother didn't mind it as long as it wasn't disruptive and she was respectful. Luckily, Tatiana was often away for work for most of Vera's young childhood and she was looked after by the multitude of other relatives living in the manor at that time. This allowed her to connect with some of her kinder relatives and even travel with her grandmother to her family home in Moscow to visit her Drozdov relations. However, things went downhill when her grandfather, the patriarch of the family, died. With her husband gone, Roksana took over affairs until her eldest child, Vera's mother Tatiana, was able to assume the position as the matriarch of the family manor. Roksana then spent most of her time in Russia, reversing the situation and visiting Britian often. Vera quickly learned not to speak her mind around her mother (or any of the more western relatives) unless she had gone over her words first, as well as to suppress her anger and other more "unacceptable" emotions, and eventually gave up and turned to trying to fit in and please her mother while struggling not to lose herself in the process. She became quieter and more calculating, doing her best to blend in which turned out to be a success because Vera was mostly ignored by her mother who had decided to simply remind Vera that she wasn't living up to her potential. A bright light in all this were her cousins. Shortly after her grandfather had passed, while Roksana was still in charge, one of her aunts (one who had left to marry a muggle-born man who had recently died) and her two daughters moved into the DeLille manor. Vera enjoyed having the daughters around, particularly Illyana since she wasn't anything like any of the other residents of the manor and had no desire to be, Illyana encouraged Vera to be herself and pursue what she wanted to, at least when she was by herself if not when she was with others. Vera was also fond of Illyana’s younger sister Natalya who had become quick friends with Vera's younger brother and had “stolen the spotlight” and turned out to be exactly what Vera’s mother had wanted her to be and from then on Tatiana would compare them often saying that her disgraced sister's half-blood daughter was better than her own daughter, remarks that Vera usually ignored.
school years: Hogwarts was at least some form of escape for Vera although one could hardly say it was a good one. The family was worried about her sorting after she showed quite a few Gryffindor traits when she was young and still does occasionally, but blood was apparently stronger and the Sorting Hat placed her in Slytherin though it did highly consider Hufflepuff for her. From then on it was clear that while she was average or above in most classes, she really didn't have any interest in them and could usually be found in the back drawing in her schoolbooks. But Vera always made sure to get good enough grades so as not to earn a meeting with any professors, although she admits to not really trying. She almost doesn't fit in in Slytherin house with zero interest in quidditch, dueling or really any competitions or sports; she doesn't have any future ambitions and seems rather careless and unbothered most of the time. Vera slowly gained back some of her spirited side thanks to being allowed to live her life at least somewhat on her own terms during the school year. Her brother Roman had been sent to Durmstrang and so she only saw him during the summer holidays meaning he wasn’t there to complicate things and act as a spy for her parents. Word however did reach the family that Vera didn't seem to want to follow any specific career path which had resulted in yearly long lectures about her future from both her parents as well as several other members of the family. But apart from that she had also picked up the habit of toying with any suitors her family attempted to set her up with over the years with any relationships rarely lasting any longer than a month or so, arranged or not, viewing them more as temporary distractions. One of the only classes she does take an interest in that could lead to a potential career is xylomancy, she originally signed up for it as one of her electives in third year just because it was one with the least people and sounded interesting enough, but she ended up actually liking the wand theory and artistic side of things. It's been a challenge to conceal from her family that she's taking muggle art as well as standard art classes and even took a year of muggle studies, they haven't found out yet though which is mainly due to her aunt Karina (the Head of Slytherin House) excluding it from any reports that get sent to Tatiana.
future: Vera spends her final summer as a Hogwarts student with her grandmother in Moscow after the unfortunate reveal of several secrets which lead to a fight between Vera and mother with the end result being Vera leaving for Russia. After graduating Vera moves to St. Petersburg for a fresh start and lives with two of her Drozdov cousins who she had grown close to during her visits with her grandmother and who had just graduated from Koldovstoretz (though the three basically live at the Drozdov Manor part time as well). It's there that she begins her career, working for an experienced wandmaker for a time and helping to run her shop. She also begins using the name Vera Drozdov both out of personal liking and to fit in better (plus her cousins wanted her to and it really did cement her new life). Her favorite place to visit is the Hermitage Museum and its art galleries. Vera never makes a legitimate career out of her art preferring to keep it as a hobby although she has sold several pieces or done custom works.

rudimentary: Creative and cunning, Zora thinks outside the box and is very practical minded. childhood: Zora was born in the wizarding community of Tinworth to Henry Araceli and Sorana Havener. Her father was an auror while her mother worked at the ministry until her two daughters were born and she began working as an herbologist from home. Unknown to Zora, her father had been acting as a spy among a group of dark wizards since she was young, it's because of this that Zora and her younger sister Bianka both took their mother's name for safety reasons. When she was eight her parents were found dead in their home and her younger sister missing, Zora herself had no memory of what had happened but had apparently been found unconscious in the house and brought to St. Mungo's. The ministry decided it would be safest for her to be sent away and hope whoever had killed her parents assumed she was dead as well or didn't care to track her down. While they never found any proof, it was assumed the group her father was acting as a spy in had found out his true loyalties and had killed him and his family for it, they of course did not tell Zora this. So she was sent to live with her mother’s cousin and her closest relative in Austria who was just nineteen at the time. Zora and Irena had only met once before when Zora was little but the two became close with time and Zora eventually saw her as an older sister. The two travelled often for Irena's job as a mazoologist and Zora came to love seeing new places and trying new things. She never found out what happened to Bianka or got her memories back but has always hoped that one day she might.
school years: Despite living in Austria, Zora was accepted into Hogwarts due to her father who had been head boy in his time and comes from a well known pure-blood family from Britain and Scotland. She was sorted into Slytherin house after him and immediately found she had a knack for charms and wand work.
