Leslie looked around, trying to spot Maxwell in the crowd. She wore her short black dress and wore adorable flats. It was the exact outfit she tried on at the clothing store with Jada. Although Leslie didn't want to go on the ferris wheel, due to a fear of heights, she and Maxwell had agreed to meet there. She thought she saw him a few times, but then he disappeared, but it probably wasn't him in the first place. Leslie knew that people from nearby towns had come to the carnival, too, so there were more people than necessary, which made it nearly impossible to spot him.
When ten minutes went by, she decided to stop looking. Instead, she sent him one short text. It took a long time to send, but she knew it delivered. Maxwell's phone probably had a message from Leslie Banks saying, Where are you?
"Oh, hey Maxwell. I've been looking for you." Leslie said as she turned around. He wasn't how she remembered him being. Of course she saw him in hallways every now and then, but he seemed...different. She got his text, but hadn't bothered to check it.
Leslie smiled back, but like his, it was forced. She glanced at another couple, one that seemed to actually enjoy each other, and wondered if she and Maxwell could ever be that way. Probably not, she thought.
A crowd of kids rushed by them, each of them holding a bag of popcorn. The smell drifted away when the kids ran away, but Leslie couldn't help but want to gorge on all the unhealthy carnival snacks. She decided she had to stay healthy, and just eat the strawberries she had packed as a snack.
Clark smiled down at Jada as she wrapped his arms around his waist. He knew that it was only because she was cold, but it still felt good. The stood at the back of a very long line, that was surprisingly moving fast. He put his arm around her shoulder as the sun started to set. The lights from the ferris wheel lit up the night sky. "Max mentioned you and him were a thing. What was that all about?" He asked as they continued to move up in the line.

Jada couldn't believe how warm Clark felt, or made her feel. It was as if he was transferring all his heat to her and it was glorious. Jada smiled and leaned into his arm as it wrapped around ehr shoulder, before turning an embarrassed shade of pink at Clark's question. "Oh... It wasn't exactly..." Jada tried to explain, but she couldn't find words. "Um, I don't... date people, you know? I just kinda, m-mess around. Well, Max is someone I messed around with. We didn't... d-do it or anything though," Jada explained finally, hurrying to add the last fact. She was a virgin, actually. Most people were surprised to know that.
"No don't feel like you need to explain yourself. I just wanted to know how serious you guys were." Clark said letting go of her to pay the Ferris Wheel operator. They were the last couple to get on this round of the wheel. They got into a bright yellow car and Clark closed the door. His long legs spread all the way across to Jada's seat. "But yeah, I just don't like talking to girls that my friends have dated. That's really why I asked."

Jada bit her lip and nodded, looking down at her lap. She felt a little embarrassed for feeling the need to explain herself to Clark, but she just felt like she should. Jada smiled her thanks to the ferris wheel operator then got in. It was slightly squished, but in the best way possible. However, at his words, Jada blushed furiously and looked away, heart sinking. "So... You- You don't want to talk to me? Or... or am I okay?" Jada asked softly, feeling like she may be sick. And it wasn't because of the ride, definitely not.
((sorry! I totally forgot to reply))
"No, no! It's not that I don't want to talk to you, I just didn't want to mess up anything that you guys had going." Clark said watching the glowing lights light up Jada's skin. The color air filled their Ferris wheel car and he smiled. "We just, I don't know. It's weird." He laughed. He honestly didn't know what to say to her.

((It's fine!))
Jada visibly relaxed, though the cool air was chilling her. She didn't want to cuddle up to Clark or anything, just in case he thought it was weird. It was funny, because she previously wouldn't have cared if they liked it or not and just tried it on. "We weren't serious or anything," Jada assured him. It had been ages since she had had a thing with Max. Jada let out a soft, musical laugh when Clark said it was weird, smiling sweetly.
"That's all I wanted to know." Clark said as they reached the highest height of the wheel. "Look down." He said looking over the edge, amazed at how beautiful Rilltown looked from up there. "It's so weird to look at it like this. It makes you feel small you know?" Clark said looking over at Jada.

Jada smiled up at him, happy he seemed to like her still. Even if he was only interested in being friends, she was happy that he was there. Jada looked out at everything, eyes wide with adoration. When she sat back down, she moved closer into Clark, so that their thighs were touching. Jada let out a chuckle at his words. "I always feel small," Jada admitted, grinning up at him. Hesitantly, she reached out and grabbed his hand. "Especially around you," Jada told him softly, looking up at him through her eyelashes
Clark smirked and continued to hold her hand. He didn't want to rush things, because he obviously wasn't that experienced with relationships. He'd flirt, but he wasn't committing to anything just yet. "Well I never do." He laughed and pushed a piece of Jada's hair behind her ear. "The only thing people ever notice about me is my height. It can make me feel awkward at times you know?" Clark said and he used his free hand to draw small circles on top of the Jada's hand that he held. Her skin was so soft.

Jada was the kind of girl who did rush things, so it felt nice to have Clark just hold her hand. Jada felt her heart start pounding when Clark tucked so hair behind her ear. She smiled at him and then hesitated, wondering if she was going to ruin things by her next move. "I notice more than just your height, Clark," Jada assured him softly, lifting her hand to touch Clark's cheek. She leaned towards him a little more, wanting to kiss him but knowing she was probably getting too eager.
"I appreciate that Jada. I notice more about you than your looks." Clark said. He wanted her to feel like she could really open up to him. She was beautiful, but he didn't just want to get to know her because she was. She was interesting. Their car lowered as the ride came to an end.

"I would but I need to go catch up with Courtney and my friends. We have family guests over this weekend." Clark said sadly. "We can make plans some other time though. Let me walk you to your car."

"No it's fine. She's with her friends so she can wait a few extra minutes." He stood up and took Jada's hand. "Ready?" He asked flashing his super white teeth.

"No problem." Clark said and they walked in the direction of the Carnival's parking lot. "So my mother's having one of her teas soon. I was wondering if you want to come? Courtney and I are allowed a few guests, I want you to be one of mine." Clark said as they slowly entered the parking lot's gates.

"Great." He said softly as they reached her car. He waited for her to unlock it and once she did he opened the car door for her.

Clark stood for a second and decided that he wasn't just going to leave like this. He bent down and tapped on the glass waiting for her to roll down the window. Once Jada did he leaned in and kissed her. A kiss goodbye, a see you later, a you're so beautiful I don't want to see you go. Whatever you want to call it.

Clark pulled back and smirked. "Bye Jada." He stood up and walked off towards the Carnival. He needed to find his friends and Jada's friends and head back home.

((I'm off to bed, but we could maybe RP them again soon...?))
