Jada sat by the kids ride, biting her lip. She so wanted to go on, but she was no idiot. There were older kids riding it, but they were all couples, joking around with each other. Jada would never have something like that. She was just an object, a thing to be played with. A toy for boys to do whatever they wanted and then discard when they got bored. She used to like playing around, having fun with every boy she could. Now she just felt empty. She didn't want to snog some random boy and take him home to snog. Sure, she never got as far as sex, but who cared.
She didn't want to be a toy anymore. She wanted to be wanted.
"Clark we'll meet up with you guys later. We're going to go get Italian ice and ride the Flight of Fear." Clark heard his younger sister, Courtney, say before she walked away with her friends. Clark nodded and continued to walk with their cousin Max and his best friend Aaron. "Yo, Courtney always looks so good. She's the only person who can pull off purple hair! Be glad she's your sister because I really want to hit that." Aaron laughed as they walked towards the bumper cars. Clark hit Aaron in the back and Max laughed.
"Shut up fool! Don't talk about Courtney like that." Clark said and Aaron flinched thinking that he'd hit him again. Clark was a gentle giant but he did pack a punch. They talked about the upcoming swim meet as they pushed through the crowd. It seemed as though all of Rilltown was out today.
"Ayo' isn't that Jada?" Max said pointing towards a bunch of the kiddie rides. She was sitting by herself and Clark noticed how beautiful she looked. "Yeah that's her, let's go so hi." Clark said pushing up the rolled up sleeves of his yellow Ralph Lauren button down.

Jada tucked a piece of long dark hair behind her each and sniffed softly, scratching her nose just lightly. Somehow, she made the gesture look delicate and fragile, as if she may break at any moment. When she saw Clark, her face brightened slightly, but it dimmed as she saw he was with friends. She quickly pulled her short skirt down as far as it could go and tried to make herself look as inconspicuous as possible. She couldn't deal with flirting tonight and she knew she had had a fling with a couple of his friend once upon a time.
For some reason, she didn't want Clark to know that.
"Just so you know Clark, Jada and I talked...but it's all over so go for it." Max said as they approached her. Aaron didn't seem surprised, apparently Clark was the only one who didn't know. He shrugged off Max's comment. He didn't care about Jada's past excursions with guys. He actually didn't even know if he cared about dating her yet or not. She was just pretty and he was interested in getting to know her. They got closer and Clark slid on the bench next to her. Max and Aaron decided to go find a pizza stand.
Jada ignored Clark quietly until he slid down next to her, at which she finally looked up and smiled. "Hey there stranger," Jada greeted him softly. "Been a while, hasn't it?" Jada added, biting her lip. Actually, she had seen him at the swim meet she said she may go to, but she hid at the back. For some reason, she really didn't want Clark to see her, as if it may make her think she really cared. She didn't want to care. She was too scared to care about anyone. She was too scared about getting hurt again, like she was by Maxwell.
Jada didn't think Clark would intentionally hurt her, since she honestly didn't think he was that kind of guy. He didn't even really seem too interested in her, or at least not as much as most other guys were.
"Yeah it has, why are you out here all alone?" Clark asked. Maybe Jada didn't have the an immediate friend group like Clark and Courtney always had. People were always with the twins to the point it almost made them uncomfortable when they were hanging out alone.
Jada blushed slightly, since she didn't want to admit that she didn't want to hang out with anyone since she felt so down. On the other hand, it would be nice to just talk to someone. "Um... Well, I'm not feeling so good and I have to be the perky one," Jada explained quietly. "So I couldn't hang out with my friends, since I couldn't be all happy for them," Jada added, running a hand through her hair. She shivered as a cool breeze roped around them. Why had she only worn a dress, no jacket?
"Oh, I see." Clark really didn't understand but decided to move on in the conversation. He noticed that she was cold, and sighed. He hadn't brought a jacket but he decided that if they walked somewhere she'd warm up. "Let's go to the ferris wheel, it's almost time for the second go round." He took her hand and waited for her to stand up. He towered over her.
Jada could tell that Clark couldn't see, but there was no point trying to explain, since he didn't ask and it honestly didn't make sense. Jada smiled as he took her hand and stood up with him. She nodded in response, craning her neck to see him. He was honestly giant. They must look ridiculous, since she was so tiny. She began to walk to the ferris wheel, almost snuggling into his side as they walked there. She was just trying to get warm. That was totally the only reason she was hugging into him.
((your post at the ferris wheel?))
