What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

I think I read this book in middle/high school, around 2015-2018. But I cannot remember the title or author. I will describe everything I remember from the plot
SPOILERS for the plot

The main character is a teen female.
A group of poor and uneducated girls from a snowy mountain village are sent to an academy to train them to become more sophisticated. They learn how to become more literate and learn the royal history I think. The goal is after a few weeks the prince is coming to visit and will choose one of them as bride.

I remember there was 1 rude girl named Kat who was maybe jealous of the main character. I remember the teachers at the academy were also mean and locked the main character in a room for misbehavior.

There was a nice girl named Britta who became friends with the main character.

On the day the prince arrived, there was a ball dance. Britta said she was sick so she didn't participate. At the end of the night, the prince would choose a bride. But he ended up not choosing anyone. This is because he was looking for Britta only as they were childhood friends, and hoped she would be there.

In the end I think Britta went to the capital with the prince but remained friends with the main character.
