The book that you literally just finished and have to undergo catharsis.

Outlander

Just finished Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. Not sure whether I'm glad or sad that it's finished. A woman visiting standing stones in Scotland finds herself transported to 1743, and into the hands of a band of Scottish outlaws, and in danger from both the English redcoats and the outlaws themselves as a suspected spy.

It was a compelling story, and you do end up really caring what happens to the characters - so a big plus for the book there.

BUT
1 - The *love* scenes are pretty violent and non-consensual in places which made for difficult reading for me.

2 - It's SO long at 900-ish pages that I thought I was never going to reach the end.

I'm sure I will be reading more books in the series, but I'll maybe need to have a bit of a break first.

Well - that's me got that off my chest!
