Cynda | 5291 comments Welcome Jennifer! You have a few squares here already. The Midsummer Night's Dream will fill another. . . . You have time to fill the bingo card or to get a few bingoes along the way.

Wobbley | 2709 comments You're off to a great start!

Cynda | 5291 comments Kurt Vonnegut, Jr was a great writer. Breakfast of the Champions is high on my list of possibilities.

JenniferAustin (austinrh) | 109 comments Another bingo!

Long Walk: The True Story of a Trek to Freedom by Slavomir Rawicz was an excellent adventure story. Though billed as a true story, the facts have been disputed. Regardless of its factuality, it was a great read! I am going to see if my hsuband will watch the film version with me after we finish the Band of Brother series.

Wobbley | 2709 comments Well done, you're making a ton of progress!

JenniferAustin (austinrh) | 109 comments Bingo #3!

A Tale of Two Cities was on the group's bookshelf from before 2023.

It was a 5-star read. What an excellent book! I am going to have nightmares about Madame Defarge and her knitting.

Thanks! I just started The Pickwick Papers, which can count for "I4: Classic comedy, satire, or humor." It is indeed being hilarious!

JenniferAustin (austinrh) | 109 comments I finished The Pickwick Papers. It was uneven -- occasionally lagging a bit, but with some truly brilliant sections!

Two left if I want to get to a blackout. I am not sure about getting to two more this year. Hopefully!

Possibilities, if there is time:
I2/Memoir
- Out of Africa by Isak Dinesen (1937)
- Storm of Steel by Ernst Jünger (1920)

N2/Western
- The Virginian: A Horseman of the Plains by Owen Wister (1902)

Terris | 4414 comments You should definitely read The Virginian! That's a good one and not too long :)

Good luck! I think you can do this! ;)

Thank you, Wobbley!

I am currently reading a fourth Dickens, Hard Times, but don't think it fits any of the remaining challenges!

I am currently reading The Virginian for the Western Square. I'm not quite ready to decide on a rating for it yet.
