What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

Read a book around 1996 to 2001. A group of people who are working in a zoo are assigned a task of getting some dangerous animals for the zoo. They travel to various countries/forest and encounter dangerous animals. I remember something about a snake that shoots poison straight into the attacker's eyes by some means of thermal identification.

Willard Price wrote a series of books with something like that premise, starting (in order of publication) with South Sea Adventure=Pacific Adventure. There's definitely one (possibly Gorilla Adventure?) with a spitting cobra (temporarily) blinding the younger boy.

Anthony McGowan wrote some continuations between 2012-2014, starting with Willard Price: Leopard Adventure.
