How about The Last Magician. It's 500 pages but by the description sounds like it might be an easy and fun read. Published in 2017 and It's available in hardcover at my library and as a Kindle book on Amazon, etc.
How about What the Wind Knows by Amy Harmon (sorry I don't know how to shorten the link) https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4...It's available at my library and on Amazon
Added to those two for the pollTime and Time Again by Ben Elton and
The Curiosity by [author:Stephen P. Kiernan.

I'm only leaving the poll up for two weeks to give us time to acquire the winner!
Heads up, I'll be asking for YA and MG fiction for September in honor of back-to-school month. Put on your thinking caps!
Only two votes. So I broke the tie. The Last Magician is the one that is available to me, so that's what we'll be reading in August. (It looks popular, you might want to get in queue now.)
Books mentioned in this topic
The Last Magician (other topics)The Globalization of Anthropology (other topics)
Time and Time Again (other topics)
What the Wind Knows (other topics)
The Last Magician (other topics)

I'll set up the poll as soon as I have 4 or 5 to choose from, or in early July, whichever comes first. We need time to vote, and then to acquire the choice.
Remember, it's very helpful if you can tell us a little bit about your recommendation, and tell us if it's available in multiple formats. And if your nominated rec. wins, you get to lead the discussion! (It's not hard. ;)
