I'm starting this one today. I picked this book because it looks dark and creepy, and right up my alley. I've never read it before but have heard great things.

I read this some years ago and really enjoyed the atmosphere. I'll re-read it for this week and I hope I won't be disappointed :)
I finished this in a day and a half. I just could not put it down. It's so good. I loved the relationship between the father and the son, and the way we saw the boy mature in just a few short weeks (months?). The only thing I would have liked to see is a bit more history about why the world had turned out the way it did. That seemed pretty ambiguous, but overall this was outstanding.
I am doing this reading challenge out of order and read this book for this category. I loved it!! I wasn't so sure I would be a fan of such a deep and dark book, but wow! I just finished another by him and he is slowly becoming one of my favorites. I agree about wanting to know why the world was that way in The Road but have been recommending it to all my friends who are book lovers. I bought it because I wanted it on my shelves at home.
I will be reading this book for this challenge also :) I've been meaning to read/watch it since I saw the movie trailer with Viggo Mortenson <3
Did anyone else find the editing in this book very strange? My version seems to lack apostrophes, quotation marks, etc. I'm wondering if it is just this edition or if this is some sort of "style" the author is using?
I like to warn people about the writing style ahead of time. I love it and feel like it just works with this book.
I gave this to my mum for Christmas years ago and never got around to read it. I didn't know it had won the Pulitzer price, so it is the perfect occasion. I'm excited to finally read it!
Interesting. I finally finished the book and I found it hard to get into due to the unusual formatting of the dialogue at first, but it does kind of work with the book somehow. At a couple points I was confused about who was saying what though.
That's what I kept saying about the writing style. It's so weird but for whatever reason, it works. Just rented the movie and I'm curious to see what they did with it.
this book was a bit hard to keep up with. I found the wording off in some places that made me have to read it over a couple of times. After reading this book I watched the movie and in this case I found the movie better than the book. It made me think what would I do in the same situation.

I think for me it was because I felt more engaged with the book, and there were moments of high tension for Pa and Boy that kept my attention, where I did not feel the same caption with the movie.
I don't know how the sentences are for someone who usually speaks in english, but as a foreigner, they are awkward! I didn't feel this the 1st time I read the book because my english reading level was lower and I was used to not understand all I read.
Luckily, the writing is better after a while. I really enjoyed (again) the atmosphere and the relationship between the 2 heroes :)
It was strange, because I had in mind some scenes from the movie (I suppose) and was surprised when the things didn't happen as I expected.

I really liked this book and was very surprised that I wasn't frustrated by certain aspects like other people (it's difficult to convey my feeling without spoiling anybody). I really need to watch the movie now!
I'm bouncing around a little bit too much, but I really want to read this one for the Pulitzer category.
