Peter Scott Lynch is a newer author to me, but is quickly climbing to the top of my list. After falling into the world Patrick Rothfuss created for his Kingkiller Chonicles (HIGHLY recommended for anyone who enjoys epic fantasy), I was hungry for more books similar in nature. I read an article by Rothfuss where he talked about his work being compared to Scott Lynch, and so I was off to the bookstore to pick up the Lies of Locke Lamora, the first of his series.

This is the second book of Lynch's "Gentleman Bastards" series. The first book honestly took me a little while to get into. It's not epic fantasy in the sense that it doesn't tell a world-traversing story and is more localized. The first had a lot of required background information about the characters. I'm still at the beginning of the second book, but it seems to be jumping right in. I'm excited to read more of Locke and Jean's exploits!
