Jordan discovers the body of the professor in her trunk and panics. In an attempt to reach Nick, she gets Noah on the phone who instructs her to immediately call 911. Meantime, Sheriff Randy Dickey and his brother JD, the town bully, come rolling into the parking lot and things end with JD hitting Jordan in the face. The local police chief Maggie Haden arrives to take Jordan into custody. Share your thoughts on these scenes and the way this all went down. Who did you suspect of murder? Who did you trust? Who did you consider crazy?

For Maggie to take Jordan into custody when she had just been assaulted by JD -- this told me that there was corruption, at a minimum. I think at that time I suspected JD of the murder.
I didn't trust anyone.

I suspected J.D., I didn't like or trust Maggie at all, and the verdict was out on Randy, but I didn't like that he let his brother get away with hitting Jordan. At first, I thought Maggie was just getting Jordan out of the situation, but she turned out to be a real nasty piece of work.

I agree with you. I thought Maggie was worse than JD. I expected Maggie and JD to be involved together.

The thought that Maggie, JD and the professor were mixed up in something shady crossed my mind too.

I didn't trust either Randy or J.D. It was suspicious to me that Randy came driving up just as she had found the body and was making phone calls. It felt like a set up. Of course, when J.D. hit her and smashed her phone, that was suspicious too.

At first I was relieved that the police chief was a woman. I thought she would stand up against the bullies. Instead, she was worse than either of them. I didn't trust her as soon as she said she wasn't arresting J.D. for hitting Jordan when it was obvious that he had. Plus, there was a witness.
