The full title is Go Back to Where You Came From: And Other Helpful Recommendations on How to Become American. It is a combination of humor, memoir, and commentary. The author immigrated from Pakistan with his family when he was young. He was a brown-skinned, “husky” kid with allergies and odd speech. In spite of practically unbelievable circumstances, such as almost dying several times, parents in and out of jail, and more, he became an international speaker and writer. He has a lot of comments on American society and how difficult it is for a Muslim to be accepted, especially after 9/11. The author narrates the audiobook, which adds a lot to the overall effect.
