Amelia Carr | 9 comments Read the first section this morning (this will be my Friday morning read for the month) and loving it! Getting the lost boys vibe instantly and it's written so well! Some great characters and a lot of intrigue already!

E. D. Lewis | 3 comments It's good and definitely got those Lost Boys vibes. Wondering what's going to happen when we get to the Dive.

Alice | 3 comments Just waiting for Nonna to turn round and say ‘One thing about living in Nightfall I never could stomach: all the damn vampires.’

Hi, this is the discussion topic for week 1's progress with our July book, In Nightfall.

This topic can include spoilers up to the end of chapter 9, so only continue reading this post if you have read up to this point.

I love how Suzanne Young builds atmosphere right from the start. The Lost Boys is one of my favourite films and it's fun to see the parallels.

❓ What are your thoughts so far?
❓ What do you think of the characters?
❓ How do you think it compares to The Lost Boys?

I will open up the next topic in a week for us to talk (with spoilers) about up to page p177/the end of chapter 18.

I think Suzanne Young gets the Lost Boys vibes absolutely right! I've already read it but the characters and atmosphere are pulling me in all over again.

My favourite bit of The Lost Boys :-) I'm loving how In Nightfall has reinvented the characters. It's one of my favourite films!

Peter (little_caesar86) | 27 comments I'm loving the story so far. the characters are great and pulled me in straight away. Nonna is great with her cryptic superstitions and rules that will all become apparent over time. I am getting some Lost Boys vibes, but only a bit because it's been years and years since I've watched it.

Sounds like you're due a rewatch :-) I love Nonna! I don't feel like we see many YA characters like her so she's a breath of fresh, slightly grumpy air.

I'mogén (peacecookiesbooks) | 19 comments I finally started this one last night and hopeful I can finish tonight or by the live show! listening via Audible (was waiting for my monthly credit) and then had some plans that didn't afford me the time to read much! anyway, I'm on chapter 6 and am really intrigued by this. it took me a long while before watching the lost boys but I'm glad I had watched that first as I'm seeing the similarities already and feel like I can appreciate it more in the long run

message 11: by Kim (new) - rated it 4 stars

Kim | 12 comments I'm a bit late this month, but I'm really liking it so far. Honestly, I've never seen The Lost Boy, but I'm definitely going to catch up!
I'm excited to see what else is going to happen. I really like Theo and her brother and they seem to have a good relationship. Nonna doesn't seem very open and communicative so far.
