Elena if it is just us, I am too lazy to make themes! But I am in for recommending things for each other in general. Maybe make them summery.
Hey guys!! Right now I'm really looking for that are KU but I'm up for anything. Here are some picks for you all:
Rom-com:
Mile High/The Right Move by Liz Tomforde: both of these books were fun and really good! I personally enjoyed book 2 over the 1st one bit loved both.
Funny Feelings by Tarah Dewitt: This book made me feel so happy and overall was an amazing book.
If I'm being honest: This was definitely a clean YA romance that was really cute. A great read in my opinion.
Fantasy:
Scarlet Princess by Robin D Mahle: I head this was really good and I'm going to give it a try soon if either of you all want to buddy read.
Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater: This one's definitely YA and comes with a series. I overall enjoyed them but it's been a while.
Sci-fi or mystery:
The Host by Stephanie Meyer: This is probably one of my favorite books and I will keep recommending it. I love it.
There's someone inside your house by Stephanie Perkins: This was more of a mystery slasher than horror but it was pretty good.
Let me know if you all need any other books for the PIFM!
Mackenzie here are some for you
This is on KU. I'm currently listening to it and its a lot of fun. UF with a bunch of paranormal beings.
not KU but such a cute read. These kinds of books are summer reads to me.
I think you would really like this series
This is on KU, I haven't read it yet but it looks like fun
Elena
You might like this one too. It has a sentient house that I can't wait to learn more about.
It has a slow start but I think it was worth it and am looking forward to reading book 2 soon. The third and I believe final one just came out too. Venetian style fantasy with con artists. Magic system isn't explained well enough for me but otherwise I liked it.
YA debut fantasy book that I dont't think is being talked about enough. Political intrigue, girls coming into their magic and realizing they can be more than pawns.
its on your tbr, and mine. Her books feel like good summer reads to me.
cozy mysteries also feel like beach reads to me. This was cute and I may go back to the series at some point. I liked the book therapy stuff!

Thanks for your recommendations, I'll pick something a bit later as there are lots of good books and I don't know what to choose 😅Meanwhile here are my picks for you:
@Mackenzie
- actually I know nothing about the book, I haven't even started reading the series, but the cover is just divine!
- a perfect amount of everything, the plot is so gripping, the narration is almost perfect and it's a stand-alone fantasy, which is rare.
- actually I think that this book is the best of the series.
- cozy summer vibes, very good romance and the narration is amasing.
- it's probably not on KU, but it sounds so good!
- one more cozy book, so wholesome and extremely captivating.@Brittany
- I found this book on your TBR, I'm a bit sceptical about harem part, but overall LA usually screams summer, add some tech bonus on top and it might be an interesting one.
- well, the same pick for you here as I know you might also enjoy it :)
- I remember you've loved and recommended me The Witch's Heart and I loved it too. Probably that book within the same genre and style might also be a hit.
- could be one more cute summer romantic story.
- LGBTQ fantasy set in Egypt? Hell yeah! I remember you've enjoyed the trilogy by S.A. Chakraborty. This book might have some similar vibes, though I haven't read it too.
- I just loved the cover :D
Brittany wrote: "Anybody manage to read anything? I'm about 50% of the way done Fourth Wing and loving it"That's amazing :)
Unfortunately I've put Happy Place on hold, but it's about 4 weeks to wait in my library :( and I've already read The Secret, Book & Scone Society a while ago, it was a nice cosy mystery. Actually I've read 4 books in the series.
Though I can't get any of the recs right now, I've put almost all of them to my TBR.

That's why I kept putting it off too! But damn! Really liking it!

@Brittany probably a week ago (or 2 weeks) I finished Happy Place that you've recommended. I know that for lots of people it was not good, even disappointing, so I didn't have any expectations, and actually enjoyed reading. Though I get why people don't like it. There were parts I didn't like much too. Thus 3 stars.
