This is just a general thread for suggestions for the group. Whatever that might be.

Wrong kind of suggestion but good initiative!

Justin Gray (jvgray) | 4 comments Hello Everyone,
I joined the group a little while back because I believe some of what I write might be of interest to the members here. I'm not sure if it qualifies as a true "Weird Western" but I self-published a mashup Greco-Western novel from the work of legendary Max Brand called Sunslinger: Riders of the Silences. The book is free to download today if anyone is interested or want to know more about it I'm happy to answer any questions.

Sunslinger Riders of the Silences by Max Brand

Thanks so much!

Quentin Wallace (quentinwallace) | 231 comments Justin Gray! I was sitting here trying to figure out where I knew your name from, and it's from Jonah Freakin' Hex!

Welcome aboard Justin! If anyone has a place in the Weird Western group, it would be you!

BURNBLUE | 2 comments Just seen a film called Bone Tomahawk with Kurt Russel in.....it's weird dark and very graphic western ...think it's going to be a kinda cult film. Thought it would make a great book !

I think that comment would probably fit better in the movie thread but I've heard good things about Bone Tomahawk all the same.

I really enjoyed "Bone Tomahawk". I heard the script had been bouncing around for awhile. Only with the recent resurgence of westerns did it get green lit. It is shockingly violent at times, but I enjoyed the dark strand of humour that ran through it and Russell is perfectly cast.

BURNBLUE | 2 comments Yeah Cameron I totally agree with you...disturbing because I was left thinking about the film for a couple of days....in fact afterwards I bought a book written by the director called ' wraiths of the broken land' . Again a dark gritty ultra violent tale set out west . Check it out...very atmospheric !

H. | 1 comments If I may, I'd like to recommend my weird west / urban fantasy mashup, Jeremiah Jones Cowboy Sorcerer, which is a serial that I recently released an omnibus of.
Sorry if this isn't allowed, but I think you all might enjoy it! If you read it, let me know what you think!
