First Question is from me- Do you guys want to be able to claim original characters from the series? It will be the marauders era if so.

That's not how advanced roleplays work.

It will be an advanced roleplay once it's up and running :)

Advanced roleplays aren't based on the quantity of the threads. Advanced roleplay simply means that the roleplaying posts are longer than an average, basic roleplay. The length varies. Some people count a few sentences as advanced, some several paragraphs. Advanced Roleplaying is usually longer roleplay posts, more experience in roleplaying, detailed characters, and more organization.

Anyway, you spelled the word "phoenix" incorrectly, in the title of the group. The "o" and "e" should be switched.

Your allowed to make them apart from the Potters as there are only three of them and they are all on the claimed list.

Hey Hayley. :) I was wondering if I could make a non-canon member of the Black family. A distant cousin by the name of Logan Vincent Black. He doesn't have to be significant, in fact they could even not care about him because he's just some cousin, not in the main line.

Sure, I've given Sirius and Regulus a sister so why not? Just research the Black family a bit so you can give him canon parents.

XD I'm a huge Harry Potter fan, I know his family.

How detailed would you like the characters to be?

Umm as detailed as you wish to make them- no less than about 6 lines for personality and 8 for history

Is anyone any good at making up names for shops? If so could you help me decide on some for shops in Knockturn Alley.

It's the committee that makes excuse to the muggles about magical things when they can't be covered up by obliviating the muggles.

Squibs are mostly looked down upon by purebloods, muggleborns and halfbloods are more tolerant and Some purebloods that are in the Order will be tolerant.

In between the two as Dumbledore is still headmaster and still likes muggles but the rest of the world isn't so keen so he has to tread a fine line between them.

Is it alright if I use Diggory as the last name for one of my characters? My intention wasn't to make him part of the Diggory family, but I think that could be interesting.

Sure, just make sure you check with whoever claims Amos...
