So, I keep seeing these books on TikTok and people say they are the best but then I read them and they are just way too overhyped and does not live up to my expectations. Am I the only one??

Definitely not the only one, this one was a huge letdown for me :/

yeah i feel like with the way that people talked about it, that it should have been way better, now the pictures and that one twist about the kid i think made the book.

I agree. Way overhyped. It was just eh okay. Most the books ppl rave about I end up thinking they are overhyped especially ones that celebrities endorse. For example I hated the crawdad book too. Thought it was boring and predictable but my genre is mainly mystery/thriller. Crime. Etc.

I definitely agree...there are some TikTok books that are amazing and then some I can't understand why EVERYONE goes on about them. This is one of those books for me...I finished it, but I would not recommend it.

I actually liked this book, but I totally know what you mean. I feel like TikTok makes books popular that aren't even that good or they're cheesy and then they get super overhyped... or the same authors get overhyped haha.

I thought that this book was great. The character development, plot twists…. i thought it was great.

Never saw this recommended online before reading, I don't have TikTok. I just got it from a local bookstore. Since I never got the over hype I totally could see myself being an over hyper online. I loved this book it got me out of a reading slump and I thought the plot and twist were well flushed out.

I did like this book, however I called almost every twist, except for that damn shower scene, that was crazy to me.
