I nominate Mere Christianity (is this allowed? It’s not a fantasy, but it’s Christian related so idk…)

Would you guys count the Left Behind series by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins as fantasy? I know its main (sub)genres are Sci-Fi/Dystopia/Post-Apocolypse and/or Christian Fiction, but would it be wrong to also say there is a fantasy component to it (since it's meant to reflect the Book of Revelation)? I'd love to read it with you guys, but I don't want to assume it fits the criteria.

Sure, we can count that for our Christian non-fiction nominations. For clarity's sake, though, would you guys like a second thread for that?

I second Magnify. (I always get them mixed up! All those 'M's!)

I think we may narrow the field too much to desire to read Christian fantasy and not include other sub-genres such as science fiction. Eventually, we may run out of good choices.🤷♀️ So, in my opinion, we should include the Left Behind series. (And I am not a sci-fi fan, nor a fan of the Left Behind series.)

This is the happy medium because honestly it's a mix between sci fi and fantasy ;)

Thanks, I'll nominate Left Behind (Left Behind #1), then!

Haha, thanks!
Haha, thanks!

No problem 😊

Yep, we'll count it!
Yep, we'll count it!

1) You are allowed to nominate a maximum of 3 books for each month's BotM.
2) The book(s) you nominate must be in the fantasy genre (here at Faith & Fantasy, both sci-fi and fairy tales may be included) and be clean or relatively clean.
3) Try to nominate books from Christian authors as much as possible. It doesn't have to have obvious spiritual themes, but please don't ever nominate a book with themes that clash with biblical truth.
4) If someone has already nominated a book that you wanted to nominate, please do "second" it! I will only be picking the top 3-6 books to vote on in the final poll, but the more total "seconds" a book has, the more likely it will become the BotM.
5) You can "second" a total of 6 books or nominate a total of 3. If you're going to both nominate book(s) and second book(s), you just have to make sure you don't exceed 3 nominations and 6 in total (seconds + nominations) per month. Hope that makes sense!
Also, please do not nominate any books that we have already read in the past twelve months. You can view the books Faith & Fantasy has already read here.
I will send out a poll for all of us to vote on based on this thread's nominations a week or two after the date of this thread's creation.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask them below!
