Play Book Tag discussion

I read this book a couple years ago and really enjoyed it, but there was much I couldn’t remember. I want to read the rest of the series without mixing up the different worlds created by this author. This story is darker than I remembered, as the main character inadvertently lets an evil shadow into the world. His insecurities made him overly sensitive to the posturing of other people, and he was manipulated into showing off. The shadow continues to follow him until he is able to identify it for what is is.

The story is also deeply sympathetic. It touches on self discoveries that we all have to face in our lives. The book shows that it can take time to develop a strong sense of self. The audio narration by Rob Inglis is wonderful. It’s wise and comforting, and consistent with the sense of growth and healing in the story.
