What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

This question is being placed on behalf of a library patron where I work. It is a series, middle grade fiction (YA), published in early 2000's, centered on young girls throughout American history and their horses. Patron remembers one book in series being about California Gold Rush.

Cover of book: The covers were beige with a sort of patriotic feel, maybe an American flag or red white and blue font.

'Hoofbeats in History' and 'Horse Diary' series are not what the patron is referring to.

The Treasured Horses Collection? Covers don't quite fit but most of them were historical fiction. A few were present day -- Rush for Gold looks like one of those, but the summary mentions "Landy hears a local legend about hidden gold and becomes determined to find the treasure."

Patron confirmed that is the 'Saddles, Stars and Stripes' series. She even found a library organization that still carries the title. Thank you to all who contributed.

Fantastic. Deborah Kent wrote good stories though I haven't read those.
