What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

I read this book in the early 1990s. It was a colorful book, not a chapter book. I believe the main character was a blue boy monster and I specifically remember part of it where the whole family is riding bikes together, mom, dad & sister (who was possibly pink). I want to say they are in a big city type of setting. Not a Sesame Street book but a similar look in my memory.

Brandi, are the colorful illustrations: simple or detailed, realistic or cartoon-like, painted watercolors or bold graphics? Do they remind you of a similar artist or picture book author?

Are their humans or animals in the story?

Thank you, Kris! The illustrations are colorful and cartoon-like, bold and not watercolor. Somewhat similar-looking to the Sesame Street books that I think were published around that time-frame or earlier. There were no humans in the story that I remember.

I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS! KRIS!!! I don't know how to thank you. I used your search engine and on the ninth or tenth try I found it! So my memory was slightly off, there were humans in the story but it is called: People in my Family: Jeffrey Moss, Carol Nicklaus. You have helped me solve a 15+ year mystery. Also it was published in 1983, 4 years before I was born. Oh and also it is a Sesame Street story but it doesn't have the main characters from Sesame Street so I was wrong again. Funny how memories can alter fact over time, smh.
