The books (at least the opening) seems to be an homage to the horror movie genre. I'm not overly family with a lot of classic movies/actors in that genre, so I'm actually learning some things :)@ 35% of book...
It took a while for the fantastical part ((view spoiler)) to happen. I'm finally there and the book is picking up.
And because it's a thriller here is my underinformed prediction. (view spoiler). PS: I have actually no text evidence to back this up. I am basing the prediction on the way these plots tend to veer.

PS: The book titles are amazing.
^ My second prediction was right, but I still quite enjoyed how it all unfolded. I neither hate nor love the ending. It too is in line with the genre. 3.5 stars rounded up because I genuinely enjoyed listening to the book.
