Having recently finished Karin Slaughters series Grant County, I tried to read the first couple books of the Will Trent series. For me it was a no go. Had I not just finished one series by her I might have been ok with this series. So I am going to start watching the Will Trent TV series without reading the books - which is really unusual for me. I like to read the books first, then watch the series or movie. But just not happening this time. I will be back to make comment once I watch the first two or three episodes on TV.
Sandi, that's what I did. I can't read Slaughter so watched the series. I won't say more until you've watched.
I have only watched the first two episodes of Will Trent - hoping to watch more of them yet this week. I dont think I care for the actor playing Trent. Or maybe I dont like the series? I am not sure yet. I dont seem to be in any hurry to get back to it, so something is putting me off. Maybe after a couple more episodes I will know?
OMG, I'm glad someone finally said it. I don't care for him either. And I hate the way he dresses. I kept watching because everyone I know just loves the show. I mainly watch for the dog Betty. If there's a second season I won't watch it.
This is one I do not watch, nor have I read the books. The second season starts Feb 20, 2024. Based on the books by Karin Slaughter. It airs on CBS, streams on Hulu and is rent or buyable on Prime.

The Will Trent series takes place in Atlanta and features GBI special agent Will Trent, his partner Faith Mitchell, and Angie Polaski. Beginning with the third book, it becomes a spinoff of the Grant County series with the introduction of some of those main characters. It is advisable to read that series first, at least before reading the third book in this one. Additionally, it is now adapted into a television series on ABC, streaming on Hulu to rave reviews. The first season is completed and the series was renewed for a second.
