I managed a much more normal reading month (having gotten past a pile of editing/typesetting ... whew!). Notables were 365 Days to Alaska by Cathy Carr, about a girl raised off-the-grid who has to adjust to life in the suburbs after her parents divorce. Temporarily. Because in a year, she plans to move back. And The Rambling by Jimmy Cajoleas, which has some fascinating world-building, all bayou-esque, with a unique card game that tips the storyline in magical directions. But my standout favorite was The War that Saved My Life by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley, which I finally got around to reading. When children are sent from London during WWII in anticipation of bombing, Ada's world opens up.
