Lana leads Nico down to the lake, smiling.

Nico follows also smiling.

“Do you want to swim now? Or walk for a bit?”

“I don’t really care,” Nico shrugs. “You can choose.”

“Great!” She grabs his wrist and drags him towards the water, skipping. She lets go and wades into the water once they are there.

Nico stands up in the water. “So how do you swim?”

“Well, you have to go deeper, first,” She walks about to elbow height. “It’s a bit cold,”!

“It’s not that cold.” He says, walking to where Lana was.

“Ok. So, I’ve never exactly taught anyone to swim, but I’ll tell you what my dad told me, I guess. Always keep your head up, and do this with your arms.” She moves her arms in circles, still standing.

Nico copies.

“And kick your feet out behind you, hard, like this,” She shifts to her stomach, swimming in a circle around him, and coming back to stand. “It might be hard.”

Nico does the same. “Then you put it together I assume.” He says.

“Yeah. But stand up if you need to. Don’t thrash,”

“Okay,” Nico says. He tries to swim and does it almost perfectly, though he doesn’t kick that much.

“Oh wow. You got it quick,” She says, “Di you want to go a bit deeper? Only to your neck. It’ll be just over my head, but I can tred water.”

((I imagine he is a head taller than her))

(Yeah🤣, also I’m planing on having Nico ask Lana to the Yule Ball after they finish swimming.)

((Ok sounds good))

“Okay.” He says walking deeper.

Lana swims over, treading water once she can’t touch. “You’re doing really good. The first time I learned, it took me almost an hour to figure it all out,”

“I think I did swim when I was like 3 but I’m not sure.” He says.

She nods, focused on staying afloat.

“You sure you don’t want to go shallower water?” He asks her.

“No, I’m good.” She went under, popping up a few feet deeper, grinning.

Nico smiles at her. He goes under water for a second than pops up above the water.

Lana swims around, ducking under occasionally, her red hair looking dark against her skin, as she paddles a bit shallower, standing up.

Nico goes underwater and swims to the shallower area, his hair stuck to his head.

Lana spins around, accidentally splashing him. “Sorry,”

“It’s fine.” He says, rubbing his eyes. “Did you know that the Christmas Ball is coming up?”

“Yeah, I never go to them. I think I went once, second year. But that’s it,” She shrugged, walking towards the beach.

“Oh okay.” Nico says. “But um I was wondering if, um…”

She turns to him, “Yeah?”

((Brb idk how long but I’ll be back))

“I was wondering if you’d want to go to the dance with me?” He says. “We could just go as friends if you’d like.”

(Okay.)

She looked at him, her cheeks growing warm. “Really? Yeah. Yeah, I want to.” She said, a huge smile growing in her face.

“Um great.” Nico says, cheeks a rosy pink. “So want to walk around the lake now?”

“Yeah!” She looked quite happy.

“Okay.” He says, walking out of the water, still smiling.

“Do you go to the dances?” Lana asked.

“I went once in my first year, then never went again.” He sighs. “When you go alone to dances they suck.”

“Yeah that’s why I never go.” She sighs, “But I’m really excited to go now,”

“Me too.” He smiles. “I think it’ll be way better this year though.”

She smiles. “Yeah,” Then her smile falters, “I don’t have anything to wear…good thing it’s hogsmeade this weekend.”

“Yeah good thing.” He says. “I don’t have anything either.”
