Sayamori sighed as she sat in a tree quietly, watching every single movement there was in the forest. She sucked on a toffee as she waited for her sister. She'd gone hunting in the City. Sayamori propped her legs up and looked at the moon.
Jacques sighed, carefully walking underneath the tall trees that littered the dark landscape. He was off on his own yet again, which he probably shouldn't have done. Though he wasn't as mortal as other anarchists, it didn't mean he couldn't be killed with a well-placed throw. He merely found staying at the base tedious and wanted to go off on his own for a bit. It seemed like he overestimated the time and was now wandering, both hungry and somewhat lost. He didn't really care though; sooner or later, he'd find his way back before the sun rose. After brushing a hand through his hair, he froze and took a moment to smell the air. A faint sugary scent wafted his way and he looked around, wondering what the source of it was. His eyes were more acute at night but even he was having trouble seeing if there was anyone nearby. Carefully, his hand toyed with the knife at his belt as he leaned against a certain tree, unaware that there was a girl sitting a few feet above him.
Sayamori stiffened as she the tree trembled ever so slightly as someone leaned against is. She quietly opened another toffee, popped it in her mouth and summoned her sword. She peeped through the leaves of the tree to examine her neighbour. Shs decided to stay quiet until the man, or so the thing appeared to be, noticed her presence.
(( im studying for my finals tomorrow so i dont have a lot of time to go on here, sorry ))
There was that smell again. It smelled more like a sugary coffee this time around and he was growing increasingly curious about it. He backed away from the tree and looked around quietly. His vision was much sharper than it was when he was human, but even it didn't help him find anyone hiding among the brush.
Growing inreasingly impatient, he called out, 'I'm giving you one second to come out. I don't want to deal with some smart aleck who thinks it's funny to hide from me.' He nearly pulled out his knife, but hesitated for a moment more in case what would appear was benign. Honestly, he wasn't in a great mood to deal with people. It had been a day since he last consumned blood and he was beginning to grow irritated. It would take much longer than that to launch him into a frenzy, but enough that his words were much sharper and annoyed than usual.

Sayamori stiffened slightly as the man threatened her. She quietly stood up on her branch, and with one flick of her wrist, cut down the two meter thick branch obscuring her. She smirked as it crashed to the ground "I was just being cautious" she cocked her head slightly "I can't be taking chances with a vamp. I'm guessing you found me due to my sweet aroma" she reached in her pocket and pulled out a toffee "Will you spare me blood-sucking agony if I give you all my toffees?"
Jac whipped around and drew his knife when he heard the slash, followed by tree branches tumbling to the ground. Though he was prepared to fight, he was honestly surprised to find a girl standing feet above him on a broken branch. He expected the person to be some old thief or someone from the monarchy, not a girl. It took him a moment to actually react to her words.
'Even if I could have one, I'm not interested in your sweets or your blood. I don't want to upset my stomach this early in the night,' he replied, narrowing his eyes at her. It still bothered him when people regarded him as a vampire, since he still felt very much human. It wasn't like he willingly became some fanged creature, so he assumed that was why he still felt disassociated with his species.
'This place isn't somewhere you'd be cautious. Who are you and who are you aligned with?' he asked, watching her carefully. He still gripped the knife in his hand and waited to see what she'd do next.

Sayamori shrugged and paced to the end of the branch, swinging her sword "I'm with everyone and no one. I'm an independent. My only ally is my twin sister and myself" she swung her hand down in front of the man's face with a toffee "Are you sure you don't want a toffee?"
How poetic. Jacques didn't really like people who leaned to the monarchy or kept in between, since he was so strongly against the Kings, but decided to stay. It wouldn't hurt to prolong his eventual lecture he'd probably have to suffer through later.
'I'm sure. Food and me don't really go well together anymore,' Jac said, glancing briefly to his side. He then turned his grey eyes to the girl before asking another question. 'Sister? Where is she right now?'

Sayamori hooked her legs around the branch she sat on and dangled upside down looking at the man "And why should I tell you that piece of valuable information" she crossed her arms "and if I were to side with anyone, It would be the rebels" her eyes darkened "because those bastards murdered my mother"
'Doesn't sound that valuable. I wasn't expecting you to answer it anyways,' Jac replied, shrugging. For his sake, he assumed she was out and not nearby. Though he doubted this would occur, the possibility of an ambush lingered on his mind.
He briefly ran a hand through his auburn hair before seeing how the girl's expression changed upon talking about the monarchy. He was well aware of the tragedies that the ruthless Ill Kings created so he wasn't too surprised. However, it made him feel a little more sympathetic.
'My condolences,' he said, knowing apologies wouldn't help anything. 'They took me and my brother. I got out, but you can see what happened to me.' He felt a little awkward speaking about himself and focused on his surroundings.
He scanned at the woods around him when he thought he heard some rustling noises. He doubted there was any beasts lurking around, but couldn't help being on edge.

Sayamori eyed the man curiously because of his tenseness "Why so tense? It's not like I'm trying to ambush you" she said as she made her sword disappear to show that she meant no harm. She then dropped a toffee into his hair "Eat it. It's calm you down. Me and my sister developed it It's effects make your senses enhanced by 50%" she said matter-of-factly before having one herself
Jac narrowed his eyes a little, wondering why she was saying what he'd been thinking. However, he brushed it off as a fluke before actually brushing off the toffee she threw down.
'I don't need them,' he said, rejecting her offer. He eyed her for another moment before adding, 'And what part of "I can't really eat human food" don't you understand? ' Though he could eat food and digest them, they didn't taste like anything and mostly made him uncomfortable. The only thing he enjoyed nowadays was blood from a fresh source, but he didn't have any cravings for it right now. Typically he reserved his feasts for when he was out on a mission, since the rebel officers didn't care too much if he had a snack as long as he did his job.
Once again, Jac noted the shuffling noises behind him. He paused briefly and took out his knife not a moment too soon. A couple beasts lunged toward him while another two went after the girl on the tree. He was knocked back to the ground, but once the wolf-like creature was close enough he aimed the dagger right into the side of its skull. After pushing aside its limp body, he got up and set his sights on its friend. He disregarded what the other girl was doing, but figured she could handle the pair of beasts on her own.

Sayamori yawned and with one flick of her wrist, she summoned her sword and cut one beast cleanly in two. the other beast tried to attack her from behind, but before it could even get close to her, Sayamori raised an index finger and the shadow of the tree speared it through the heart. She nudged the two limp bodies of her tree branch before looking down at the boy "Do you need help" she said in a lazy tone. Killing things was all in a days work for her. She did it for a living and to protect the ones she loved.
Jacques wasn't listening to the girl as he moved to the side as the creature tried to tackle him. He kicked it hard in the side, causing something to crack and it to stumble backwards, before flipping his knife around. He had to wait a moment as the stubborn creature got into view before chucking the knife, hitting it in the shoulder. Annoyed with his bad aim, he rushed forward and used his vampiric strength to dig into its chest. After retracting his arm and wiping the crimson residue on his camo pants, he nudged the corpse testingly. Jac then removed his knife from its cold shoulder and wiped it on the hem of his shirt, a little bothered by the small tears and red stain on it.
I'll just say I walked into a bit of trouble and got lost, Jac decided as he turned back around. Though, he doubted his squad leader would take that excuse. She would probably ask why he even left in the first place. The vampire glanced at the beasts that the girl dispatched and rolled his eyes, remembering her earlier question.
'That's funny. As if I'd ever need help from anyone, most of all some strenger,' he retorted, feeling offended she'd even ask that. She was a little too cocky for his tastes, and he felt pretty annoyed by her passive attitude.
'Seems like I did a cleaner job than you did anyways.' Well, he doubted that was true. He was still a bit of a messy eater and hadn't yet perfected a clean attack. He busied himself then with removing some more of the blood off his arm, but it looked like the sticky substance would remain. It smells bitter too, he thought, so I'll probably gag if I lick it off.

Sayamori ignored the boy and jumped down onto the ground, kneeling down next to the body of the dead animal.
She growled in disgust "Another one of the Kings' stupid experiments. There's been millions of them in the woods and i'm kind of getting ticked off by them. However I have observed that their weak spot is behind their neck" she said as she pointed at the spot "one blow there with a hilt and they're dead". She then looked up at the boy "And I'm not a complete stranger. Ever heard of the notorious Black Twins?" she asked. She and her sister were well known in the city and referred to as 'Robin Hood' figures.

Jacques slipped his dagger back into its sheathe and briefly took a moment to crack his fingers. He glanced at the girl warily when she mentioned the two girls, figuring that was who she was claiming herself to be. He kept silent for a moment before shrugging passively, looking at one of the dead creatures she was next to. 'Yeah, but it's funner to mess around a bit with the creatures,' he said before adding, 'And I wouldn't say notorious. More like well-known. The Anarchists are more infamous, honestly.' True to his word, he was prodding her a little with his claim. He had a feeling it wasn't the best idea, but he was bored. He figured if something went wrong then he'd just go back to one of his group's campsites and find out how to get back to their base.
Sayamori was so deep in thought that she dropped her mask on her personality a bit without knowing "And that's the reason we don't associate with the Anarchists. Were too well known by the Kings. As soon as my sister and I join, your base will be swarmed by the enemy's soldiers" she eyes pained a bit "and that's why I have the blood of so many live on my hands". She soon realised that she was being regretful and straightened , resuming her cocky attitude and stuck her nose in the air "Of course, why could I care. I mean, it's not like I would die"
Though a little disturbed when she pointed him out as a member of the Anarchists, despite him not confirming nor denying it, Jack pushed them aside. He intended his words and actions to her statement to be apathetic, but any insults towards the organization he spent his whole life with always seemed to set him off. Honestly, if he wasn't annoyed before than now he was. He knew she was being sincere, but thought her words were plain bull. As much as he wanted to extend his sympathies to her, he was much more inclined to correct her words. 'You know, we have people who are stronger than you and your sister combined. There's a reason why they haven't found our base yet,' he replied with evident venom.
'And, I doubt they give two sh*ts if you joined or not. Either way, you act like you're on our side. Congratulations. We might as well be best f*cking friends.' He decided he was tired with speaking with this girl. Plus, her last statement was enough to make him leave.
'By the way, brother used to say he wouldn't die. Now he's missing. So did some of my friends. Guess whose five feet under?' he ended, staring at her with cold eyes before turning away and beginning to walk off. Nice going there Mr. Tough Guy, he thought to himself. He hadn't noticed he was tightening his fists and had to breathe a couple times to relax. Now he was aching for some blood as well as some extra time to sleep.

She stood trembling with rage. Her nails dug into her palms and her knuckles were white. Her long black hair covered her face. That is it, she thought, I am not putting up to this idiots crap. "Get your punk ass back here you bastard" she said softly with anger "How can a little sh*t like you even dare to question the daughter of Satan's power?" she looked up at the boy "why, if I wanted to, I could kill you now, bring you back to life and then kill you again and again" she snarled "and you better thank your lucky stars that my sister isn't here "She's less tolerant than I'll ever be". Her eyes were luminous in the shadows of the forest "and who are you to talk about being five feet under? I was born there. I don't want to fight for anyones side or shed blood for no reason. But if you're going to retort like that, then forget about being best f"king friends". She realised quickly realised how much she'd just sworn and looked down at her hands in shame. She hardly ever swore. But her hands weren't normal anymore. They were claws. Sayamori quickly realised that she had completely taken on compete demon form and cut the act of fighting back and lowered her head, backing toward the shadows before the boy saw what she really looked like "I'm really sorry. I usually don't swear so much. I...have to go to..to..se my sister" she said warily as she put her hand in her pockets to hide her claws, but she tore her hoodie to shreds instead..
(( oh gosh i feel really guilty now for making her upset (xwx) this is how jack would act though so i'm sorry for making him an arsehole ))
Jack scoffed when he heard her threaten him with demonic power. He stopped and looked back at her, watching her cautiously. Though he was feeling mad after that conversation, he could see the girl was much more angry. After her fiery response, he couldn't help but notice her hands morph to claws. A sense of pity pricked at him, however he ignored it. Jac was over being sorry for other people.
'Go right ahead, I don't care. It'd be a party compared to what they did to me,' he began, but stopped. Evidently getting personal wasn't going anywhere. He briefly stared downwards at the ground before sighing. What the hell was he doing arguing? This was obviously dumb and only distracting. Though he wanted to avoid going back, he decided he'd prefer a lecture than risk arguing further with some hormonal kid.
'Fine then. I was already leaving,' he spoke passively. He ran his pale hand through his hair before continuing his steps. There was still the matter of finding the camp he was assigned to, but he guessed if he went in one direction then sooner or later he'd find it.

"So, we're just going to remain here until day passes?"
That was the question that left Tino Väinämöinen's shadow companion, Psycho, as the Finnish shadowman leaned against one of the trees."We both don't like being out in the day, so why leave and be vulnerable?" Tino spoke, glancing at the shadow. "We're safer and more camouflaged in here... Come on, let's see what else is here while we're waiting." He mumbled, beginning to walk in a random direction.
The shadow almost seemed to make the motion of huffing, slowly beginning to follow his host.
Nicholas wasn't a huge fan of dark places. He passed through the forest as quickly and quietly as he could, hoping he'd be out of here before anything happened. Just being here made his head hurt more than usual and his thoughts scattered, courtesy of a certain someone. It must be having a field day right now, he thought bitterly. After moving aside some stray dark oak branches, he paused and thought he heard a couple voices. They were definitely not a product of his mind either. Carefully, he moved in that direction and peered through a crevice in two trees. He could only see a male upright talking, suggesting to his unseen companion that they search around a little. Nick realized a second later that the direction they took would lead them straight towards him and tried to move aside as quietly as possible, a task made difficult thanks to crunchy leaves and brittle twigs on the ground.
Tino didn't noticed Nicholas, passing the hidden other and going further into the forest. "Come on, Psycho; don't get too far behind me now." The Finn spoke. The shadow with pure white eyes followed behind Tino, passing Nick. Psycho seemed to glance back at Nick, unlike Tino, but he didn't respond to seeing the other, facing forward again and following Tino.
"I don't plan to fall behind anytime soon, my host..."
Feeling immediate relief he hadn't been seen, Nicholas watched curiously as the boy passed by. He noticed a moment later a pair of white eyes staring at him, but it took him a moment to comprehend what it was. A shadow semi-formed drifted behind the boy, apparently called Psycho and referred his companion as his host. Nick felt an ominous aura around the creature and quietly reacted, surrounding his feet with other shadows in case he needed protection. He didn't see any real reason to interact with them but he was a little curious about the thing called Psycho. As the two strangers continued forward, Nick testingly tried to manipulate the shadow's form. He wondered if it was a separate entity or something that was accessible to him, and naturally curiosity got the better of him.
Psycho felt a force trying to manipulate his form, a growl leaving him before he turned back to where he saw Nick, feeling the source coming from there.
"Tino, something is messing with my mind..."
"What do you mean--" the Finn began before he had looked back, seeing someone hiding within the trees. "...? Hello? Who goes there?"
"Whoever they are, I already dislike them." Psycho added.
Yup, that definitely wasn't a good idea. Nick heard the growl emitted by the shadow creature and moved behind a tree instinctively, but it was already too late to hide. He walked in front of it with his hands to his side to make sure they were visible. Though, underneath his feet flickered a tense shadow.
'Oh, sorry. I was just wondering what that thing with you is,' he voiced, stuffing his hands into his pockets. 'I didn't mean to disturb you.' Well, he did but he wasn't going to say that out loud.

Tino rose an eyebrow at Nick, a frown spread across his face. "...The 'thing' with me is my shadow, whom he's called himself, and I've called him ever since, 'Psycho'. And accourding to Psycho, you were trying to 'mess with his mind'?" The Finn spoke, glancing at Psycho.Psycho seemed to be glaring, the white eyes more narrowed than they usually were. "...I don't like this guy, my host; there's something... Off about him. Almost like... Some of him is hiding."
"Now you're just being weird, Psycho." Tino spoke, glancing at his shadow. "Not everyone has some secret half to them like you are to me, so stop assuming towards every person we meet."
Nick listened quietly to Tino's explanation, guessing he was already on their bad side after the stint earlier. He wasn't sure how a shadow could detach itself from a body, since for him they lacked any real sentient, but the boy did say that Psycho was a self-proclaimed shadow. He didn't answer immediately when Tino mentioned he had tried to mess with his mind. Instead he continued to be silent as Psycho spoke. He moved his gaze down when the being hinted that there was something wrong with him. You wouldn't know the half of it, he thought to himself. The back of his head prickled with pain and he guessed that was its way of showing laughter. Of course it was listening.
'Well, everyone's got a secret of their own. Who doesn't in this kind of world?' he replied vaguely, before answering Tino's earlier question. 'And it was just an accident, sorry. I didn't mean to mess with anything.'
