He was so incompetent! But it all worked out for him. Lyra figured large in his rich fantasy life. I'm just glad he never chose to act out those fantasies. He was comic relief. He really didn't do anything bad, actually. He'll make a great Los Angeles City politician, better than any they have serving now.
Hahaha, Anita. Agree with you here!I didn't much appreciate the Milo character; he served as a red heron for me. I kept waiting for something to stick in my brain but... alas.
Milo was actually my favorite part of the story. He was so inept at his job. All of his hits were actually accidents or were done by other people. At first, I thought he was going to stalk Lyra and eventually try to kill her, but he never tried to hurt her. I loved that Milo gave Mr. Merriam the idea to dump the safe at the park where Lyra was filming. He was the humor that the story needed.
Milo was hilarious - much needed comic relief! And yes, he was full of himself. Like he thought he was some kind of ladies man. lol His scenes were funny
I agree Robin. Milo was my favorite side character. He was so bad at his job, that he was good for the story. I laughed at his bumbling. I was hoping that he would hook up with Gigi somehow. The two of them together would be hilarious. He will be a perfect do nothing, politician.
This has nothing to do with the book, but Milo would certainly fit right in with Los Angeles politicians. After this weekend of listening to them pontificate about how great they are and how their plans for emergency preparedness saved the city, he couldn't be any worse.
