I wonder if Sam is descended from Alec Kincaid of Garwood's The Bride. I want to think he is. After I got past the whole "can't love again" trope, I loved Sam. The narrator, Susan Denaker, did a wonderful job with Sam's brogue.
Yes, I am a sucker for the Scots accent. I had no idea that Sam was so well off, or such landed gentry, or whatever. Anita's query didn't even make it to the threshold of my conscious/unconscious brain. Good question for the series, I think.
Somehow I knew going into this book that Sam was a decendent of Alec Kincaid. I must have read it in a review or someone mentioned it. I might have to go back and re-read The Bride since it has been so long since I read it. I love Garwood's historical romances.
I didn't connect Sam as anything more than a friend and colleague. I never expected that he had a castle. For some reason, I thought his ties were in the US. I'm with you all. Nothing like a hunk in kilts. The City of Dunedin has a connection to Edinburgh and put on many celebrations with men in kilts. I love it.
