Howdy! I have several clean romances and romcoms with protective heroes. In my romantic suspense novel, Finding Claire, the MMC is very protective. I also write cowboy romcoms & those guys are very protective also. I write as Pamela Humphrey & Remi Carrington.
I’m happy to give more info if those sound interesting.
The first thing that comes to mind are two Jane Austen novels--Northanger Abbey and Manchester Park. Her novel Emma is somewhat like that, if you count that "protective" includes trying to keep her from making mistakes that she will later regret. Good luck finding this trope. Most women enjoy novels where the woman is more strong willed, and is able to make her own mistakes and get herself out of trouble. That's what moves the plot along.
They are not in kindle unlimited, but they can be requested from your local library. All my books are listed on my website phreypress.com. And they are available on Amazon, Nook (B&N), Kobo, Apple Books, and Google Play.
My Never Say Never series has MMCs that are first responders in all the books but one (he’s a PI turned cowboy).
Another clean romance, but in the genre of fantastical is Tara Grayce Elvin Alliance series. Also Dracula (the actual book) is clean and has a protective hero. If you like a little more in the chilling arena there is also Phantom of the Opera (again the actual book).
I would also recommend reading the story of Sleeping Beauty and Nutcracker. Very different stories from what the movies and shows are.
Also! Robyn Chalmers is clean and has some very cute regency books. C.J. Archer is also in the fantasy genre and has a good series "After the Rift" that is slow burn and has some great moments where the hero saves the heroine.
Honestly, I’m not sure where the paperback can be found. Some readers have ordered it through B&N. And it’s available through Amazon. Do you prefer paperbacks to ebooks?
Rachel wrote: "@Remi Carrington I was wondering can the book finding Claire be found at half price books at all?"
Finding Claire Fletcher (if that's the one you're looking for) is on Half Price Books, and probably many other online used booksellers (ABE, Thriftbooks, World of Books, etc.). If you're looking for Finding Claire Collins, you could look for that in the same places.
@Remi CarringtonI usually like to read on like my kindle because I have kindle unlimited and I was thinking about buying the book on my kindle but I don't think I ever did
But also I don't know if it would be on there i can always look but I have an app called libby idk if you know what that is but it's basically like books you would get in your library and you would borrow them on there so I was going to see if I can find it there
I even tried looking for like a pdf version but for some reason I can't find a pdf version to it
My thing also is i like to save as much money as I can so if there is alternative free ways to get a book such as pdf then usually I do that but if I really want it then I will pay for it
But I think I'm more nervous that I will get the book and just either won't like it like I thought I would and sorry that has nothing to do with you or your writing Its the fact of im still trying to find the perfect genre for me which is at the moment like car racing or drag racing romance books with a protective hero but idk if they specially have a lot of books with that exact trope so yeah
I'm so sorry this is like a long paragraph sorry about that
No worries. Readers can request books from the library and then read them using Libby or whatever app the library uses. If your library does not have my books, you can request them through your library. And I don’t have any books set in the racing world. Years ago, my husband raced as a hobby. It’s a fun sport, and I can imagine it would make a great setting for a romance.
I hope you find books you enjoy.
Thank you If you ever come upon any books like that could you maybe just send the titles my way also I'm going to go see if I can find that book Would it be under Remi Carrington
Or do you go by like different names for books idk if what I'm saying makes sense I just know some authors have different pin names I guess you would call it
I write as Remi Carrington (a pen name) and as Pamela Humphrey (my real name). And if I learn of any clean racing romances, I’ll let you know.
If Libby pulls up a book that is not at your library, you can click the notify me button to be notified if the book is comes available at your library. You can do and also go to your library’s website, sign into your account and request the library buy the book. There were two books that pulled up on Libby that my library didn’t carry, I’ve hit to be notified when the books comes available. A month later, I was told by a library’s librarian that I can request the book be bought and I did on their website and a couple of days later, they bought the ebooks so that I could get them on Libby.
The library has to use the funds they given. They have to show that the funds they are being given are being used.
Hi Olivia! If you're wanting an advanced reader copy of a protective hero romance, A Cowboy's Runaway might be exactly what you're looking for!
He doesn't trust her. She's running out of time. Can they work together to find the one who can prove her innocence?
Sign up for an ARC! Ebook's will be sent out on February 29th. :)
