Zoë (inareaderseyes) | 7 comments Okay, hi! So I'm hardly active much on here, but I was wondering about the lawsuit toward Google earlier this year. Wasn't it about how they stole others' work for their new AI service? If so, does this mean Google Docs is now out of topic for writing purposes?

Eric Westfall (eawestfall) | 195 comments Zoe (sorry I don't know how to do the double-dots over the "e" here),

I, uh, Googled the Google lawsuit, and it appears it was just filed in July of this year. Since this is a huge case, with probably billions at stake, it's likely to go on for several years. So until Google decides to take Google Docs "offline," or is ordered by the court to do so (a scenario that's unlikely as an interim thing, anyway), if you're a GDocs user, I suggest not worrying about it.

Just my USD .02.

Eric

Just find Zoe with the umlaut over it, and then copy and paste it here. Like this: Zoë.

Wmba Dams | 46 comments anybody can read a book and use what they read in many ways
all legally -- especially what they learned

AI 'reading' books is TOTALLY LEGAL
and (almost) everything they do with that knowledge is legal too
