Maryann Taylor | 44 comments I can always count on Jennifer Moore for a super-clean read. She manages to deliver a delicious heart pounding romance without using the crutch of any racy or inappropriate material. Miss Burton Unmasks a Prince is completely delightful. Miss Burton is sent from America to her distant cousin, a duke, who sponsors her for the London "season." She has been given strict instructions from her parents that she is to secure a marriage that will save the family from financial ruin. She loathes the manipulative role she is expected to play. One day she walks in the Castle forest and vents her frustration by throwing large rocks into a frozen lake, feeling satisfaction with every loud crack. She loudly speaks her resentful thoughts with every blow to the ice. She does not see the Prince who watches and listens from the shadows. Thus begins a deeply romantic tale with a little history, humorous repartee, and delicious secrets. The author is a master at dialogue and her characters are so clearly defined and real that they step right out of the pages. I will always remember the heart stopping scene of an evening picnic on the floor of a castle tower, open to the starry night. Moore knows how to create atmosphere extraordinaire and I enjoyed it over and over in this fantastic read.
