5.5 - Wake Up and Smell the Coffee

In need of a cup of joe? The first coffee house in England was opened in Oxford in 1651, with more popping up in the following years and gaining popularity as social meeting points and places to engage in debates.

Read a book with coffee beans or a cup/mug on the cover. This may be a ceramic, glass, or takeaway coffee cup.

Required: post the cover.

Michelle (michellesoleil) | 361 comments Hi! To clarify, does the cup on the cover need to have visible coffee in it, or just a cup? I'm specifically asking about the following cover. Thanks!

Legends & Lattes (Legends & Lattes, #1) by Travis Baldree

Just a cup is fine. That cover's good to go.

The original wording of the task did specify it must have coffee in it, but then I realised it's very hard to distinguish between "brown liquid that might be coffee" and "brown liquid that might be very strong tea"!

Another to verify, since I'm not sure what I'll read...
Cups are on the shelf on the left. State of the Onion (A White House Chef Mystery, #1) by Julie Hyzy
OR
Cup in upper right. Thank You for Listening by Julia Whelan

Brooke | 1111 comments Would this work? There is a tea bag hanging from the rim, but it could also be a coffee cup (and actually looks like the one I use at home.)

Just being a cup is good enough. No disqualifications for teabags here (I think I'd have to hand in my Brit card if I did!)

Lost and Found in Paris by Lian Dolan

It looks to me like that's a coffee cup floating over the head of the girl on the left (??)

Mai (jeanphoenix) | 801 comments Would this fragment of a cup count as a cup?

Bloody Acquisitions (Fred, the Vampire Accountant, #3) by Drew Hayes

The cover of the book versions only shows a part of the cup, but you can see the full thing on the cover of the audiobook. I read both the ebook and listened on audio.

Thanks!

Yes, I can still tell that's a cup of coffee. Approved, but probably worth putting a link back to this post in your claim.
