I finished
Identity by Nora Roberts yesterday and really enjoyed it. I'm a big fan and thankfully this one did not disappoint. Just enough romance and suspense, it was a winner.

Just listened to Susan Duerden narrate Seduction in Silk by Jo Beverley. Great way to re-experience this late entry in the Malloren and Friends series. The audiobook was released Nov. 22, 2022 by Tanto Media.
I finished listening to The Bitter Past by Bruce Borgos, Porter Beck #1, and it was a great mystery despite some ill conceived sexist character traits. my review

I am listening to The Last Letter by Rebecca Yarros. . It has been a long long time since I have read a book that has so moved me in so many different emotional directions. One of the best reads/listens in a long, long time.
Since the first of the year I've been re-reading in audio some of my favorite series. Some I've done audio before, some I had only done print.I'm re-reading Nalini Singh Psy-Changeling series https://www.goodreads.com/series/4145.... I think the audio versions are excellent and contribute to me noticing details.
Usually I read and re-read series in order but not this time.
Because recent books featured Mercant family members I read the Mercant books which led to me reading bears then wolves then The Cats.
I think chronological order works best for first time read but reading following character groups is interesting. I'm noticing mentions of characters I previously missed.
I'm also doing Singh's Guild Hunter series https://www.goodreads.com/series/4794....
I’ve collected all of the audiobooks in both of those Singh series. I started Guild Hunter and loved it.
I completed
by Ashley Winstead recently and I really enjoyed it. The story is told from only Alexis' pov, and the narrator is Ann Marie Gideon.
Both the author and narrator are new to me, and I wasn't disappointed. Ann does a good job narrating all the voices, and you know sometimes women don't narrate men well, and men don't narrate women well, but she did a good job.
Mostly I enjoyed this for the laugh out loud moments throughout.

I absolutely love the Psy-changeling series. I was able to get most of the audio books when they were on sale on Chirp a while back.

I finished listening to:Prodigal Son by Gregg Andrew Hurwitz, Orphan X #6, and be ready for a wild ride!
my review
One Night with You by Marie Force, Fatal #.5, and it was a different experience on audio and starting from the beginning of the series this time. Loved it all over again.
my review
I finished listening to Some Kind of Hero by Suzanne Brockmann, Troubleshooters #17 and it was even better on audio!my review
I finished listening to Dark Angel by D.K. Hood, Special Agent Beth Katz #1, and boy was this a wild ride!my review
I finished listening to Catch Her Death by Melinda Leigh, Bree Taggert #7, and it was a nail biter. my review
I finished
The Five-Star Weekend by Elin Hilderbrand and really enjoyed it. The narration was great, Erin Bennett is one of my favorites.
In Death #57
Payback in Death
by J.D. Robb
Listened, now listening for second time. Knowing a bit about this one I re-read some earlier ones with Webster. He's a tough cop but in every book I end up thinking, "Hey, give him a break, a cup of coffee, a cookie, something. He's Belgian Malinois not rat!"
I finished listening to The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry by Rachel Joyce, Harold Fry #1, and it’s a haunting journey. my review
I finished
The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston and really enjoyed it. The narration by Brittany Pressley is well done.

Glad to hear this, because I really want to listen to this. I guess a lot of people do because the wait list is long at my library.

Great review! I started the audiobook today, so far I'm enjoying it.
Dark Memory
by Christine Feehan
Narrated by Jim Frangione
Another book with female main character who is trained warrior and I like that a good deal of the book is from her POV. Of course there's the usual misunderstandings when it comes to the romance but I really like these characters. The ancient warriors wandering the world for the first time in centuries are quite entertaining.
I've finally started the In Death series by JD Robb.I'm about half way through the second book.
Is it too weird that I want to know the spoilers in advance so I can watch for clues about the bad guy??
- 4 starsin progress:
I finished listening to:Don't Open the Door by Allison Brennan, Regan Merritt #2, and it cleared up critical questions remaining from the first book.
my review
One Last Kill by Robert Dugoni, Tracy Crosswhite #10, and it far surpassed expectations!

Not weird at all!
A Nobleman's Guide to Seducing a Scoundrel
by K.J. Charles
I liked the romance and both the male main characters. Rufus is very noble, sometimes rigidly so. Luke is a scoundrel but becomes a more lovable one as the book progresses. As for the non-romance story and other characters, lots going on and wow, so many very vile villains.
Hoopla recommended this but I do wish I had known this is second book in Doomsday Family series. I don't think it caused me to miss much and anyway I enjoyed the narration by Martyn Swain so much that listening a second time knowing who's who and what is going on behind the scenes will be a pleasure.

I hate reading out of order!
I finished listening to Fatal Affair by Marie Force, Fatal #1, and the prequel made such a difference in this reread on audio. my review

"I hate reading out of order!"
I seldom read out of order.
First book
The Secret Lives of Country Gentlemenis marked on hoopla as first Doomsday book but second book isn't marked as part of series. I found out when I looked it up on Goodreads.
I finished listening to The Perfect Date by Julia Crouch and it was a crazy ride with an adorable border collie rescue named Joe who stole the show!my review
Accidentally Paranormal #1
The Accidental Werewolf
by Dakota Cassidy
Narrated by Meredith Mitchell
Read second book and maybe one other in this series 10+ years ago but never happened on the first one. Plan to read/re-read series in order since audios are available from hoopla or library.
Two things bothered me about this but both were probably me things. The narration was too slow for me, my mind kept drifting. I increased the speed again and again to get to speed right for me. The other thing: It seemed odd given his age and status that Keegan knew very little about the werewolf rulers. A line here or there saying something like he stayed out of politics would have helped.
I'm aware of the negative reviews and see their point but I liked the silliness of this. Maybe knowing Amway, Avon, Mary Kay, etc. people helped.
Accidentally Paranormal #2
Accidentally Dead
Like #1, silly but enjoyable though, maybe because I read it before, I found Nina rather boring.
The Rh positive / Rh negative idea was entertaining though details were inaccurate. If it's like pregnancy, Nina being AB negative would have developed antibodies due to feeding of positive blood not due to subsequent negative blood feedings. Weird thing to not get right.
Still reading the Dakota Cassidy Accidental books. They're silly but entertaining and mostly without much depth when it comes to character development though that improves as the series continues. It feels like the series paranormal universe is made up book by book but that's probably not the case as continuity errors are not an issue.
So far it looks like I'll be rating the books 3* not something to read again but not something I couldn't finish. Can't say I didn't do some skipping. The sex scenes are more Penthouse how-to than anything that contributed to character or plot development so easily skipped.
I finished listening to Dark Horse by Gregg Andrew Hurwitz, Orphan X #7, and this one was pretty dark.my review
I finished listening to The Christmas Appeal by Janice Hallett, The Appeal #1.5, and this was fun from start to finish!my review
