Lynne Hollingsworth (justlynne1) A-4) Tropical Setting: The Covenant of Water by Abraham Verghese READ 5/29/2023

An amazing book, but very long. The book is set in Kerala, on South India’s Malabar Coast. A very poverty stricken area where extended families cared for one another.
I listened to all 31 hours of the audiobook and remained consistently engaged in the storyline the entire time. I highly recommend it!

Lynne Hollingsworth (justlynne1) B-1) Fire, Flood or Hurricane: The Light Pirate by Lily Brooks-Dalton READ 8/20/2023

Another great audiobook, which seemed highly realistic in our current global warming climate catastrophe. Although this book takes place in a small swampy southeastern town in Florida, I could visualize the same thing happening to my family on the North Carolina coast. It was a real eye opener!
I loved the first half of the book, however I felt the second half went on way too long and seemed to drag out events that could have been rapped up sooner with the same affect. It almost seemed like the extra details were for a movie script. Which would be great! I would pay to see it! And I still recommend this book to everyone.

Lynne Hollingsworth (justlynne1) B-4) Central or South American Author: Our Share of Night by Mariana Enríquez - READ 5/25/2023
Awesome world building. A little hard to connect all of the dots in the different story lines at times. But I feel that was a result of me listening to the audiobook without a list of character names available. Once it all came together, WOW! I loved it!
