2. Kinky Boots
Kinky Boots is a musical with music and lyrics by Cyndi Lauper and book by Harvey Fierstein. Based on the 2005 British film Kinky Boots, and mostly inspired by true events, the musical tells the story of Charlie Price. Having inherited a shoe factory from his father, Charlie forms an unlikely partnership with cabaret performer and drag queen Lola to produce a line of high-heeled boots and save the business. In the process, Charlie and Lola discover that they are not so different after all. It made its Broadway debut at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre on April 4, 2013.

3. Les Misérables
Les Misérables is a musical based on the 1862 novel of the same name by Victor Hugo. It made its Broadway debut in 1987. Set in early 19th-century France, the musical tells the story of Jean Valjean, a French peasant, and his desire for redemption, released after serving nineteen years in jail for stealing a loaf of bread for his sister's starving child. Valijean breaks parole and is chased throughout the play by the police and he gets caught up with young idealists who are trying to overthrow Paris.

4. Wicked
Wicked is based on the 1995 Gregory Maguire novel Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, in turn based on L. Frank Baum's 1900 novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and its 1939 Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film adaptation. The show is told from the perspective of the witches of the Land of Oz. Its plot begins before and continues after Dorothy Gale arrives in Oz from Kansas. Mamma Mia is a musical based on songs recorded by Swedish group ABBA. After reading an old diary of her mothers she realizes three men could be the missing Dad and sends invites to her wedding supposedly from Donna her mother. All three men accept and the rest of the musical is the wedding planning and falling in love and following dreams.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a musical based on the 1964 children's novel of the same name by Roald Dahl. The musical met with mixed reviews but personally I thought it was great. The story is of Charlie Bucket, poor boy who doesn't have enough to eat buys and wins a chance to go into Willy Wonka's chocolate factory.

9. Chicago
Chicago is a 1975 American musical. Set in Chicago in the jazz age, the musical is based on a 1926 play of the same title by reporter Maurine Dallas Watkins, about actual criminals and crimes on which she reported. The story is a satire on corruption in the administration of criminal justice and the concept of the "celebrity criminal".

10 My Fair Lady
My Fair Lady is a musical based on George Bernard Shaw's 1913 play Pygmalion. The story concerns Eliza Doolittle, a Cockney flower girl who takes speech lessons from professor Henry Higgins, a phonetician, so that she may pass as a lady. Despite his cynical nature and difficulty understanding women, Higgins grows attached to her. The musical's 1956 Broadway production was a notable critical and popular success, winning six Tony Awards, including Best Musical. 12. Miss Saigon

Guys and Dolls was conceived by producers Cy Feuer and Ernest Martin as an adaptation of Damon Runyon's short stories. 2. Kinky Boots
Kinky Boots is a musical with music and lyrics by Cyndi Lauper and book by Harvey Fierstein. Based on the 2005 British film Kinky Boots, and mostly inspired by true events, the musical tells the story of Charlie Price. Having inherited a shoe factory from his father, Charlie forms an unlikely partnership with cabaret performer and drag queen Lola to produce a line of high-heeled boots and save the business. In the process, Charlie and Lola discover that they are not so different after all. It made its Broadway debut at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre on April 4, 2013.

3. Les Misérables
Les Misérables is a musical based on the 1862 novel of the same name by Victor Hugo. It made its Broadway debut in 1987. Set in early 19th-century France, the musical tells the story of Jean Valjean, a French peasant, and his desire for redemption, released after serving nineteen years in jail for stealing a loaf of bread for his sister's starving child. Valijean breaks parole and is chased throughout the play by the police and he gets caught up with young idealists who are trying to overthrow Paris.

4. Wicked
Wicked is based on the 1995 Gregory Maguire novel Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, in turn based on L. Frank Baum's 1900 novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and its 1939 Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film adaptation. The show is told from the perspective of the witches of the Land of Oz. Its plot begins before and continues after Dorothy Gale arrives in Oz from Kansas. Wicked tells the story of two unlikely friends, Elphaba (the Wicked Witch of the West) and Galinda (later Glinda the Good Witch), whose relationship struggles through their opposing personalities and viewpoints, same love interest, reactions to the Wizard's corrupt government, and, ultimately, Elphaba's fall from grace.

The Wizard of Oz is a 2011 musical based on The Wizard of Oz 1939 original film, as well as L Frank Baum’s novel, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Mamma Mia is a musical based on songs recorded by Swedish group ABBA. The musical is set on the fictional Greek island of Kalokairi, 20-year-old Sophie is preparing to marry her fiancé, Sky. and wants her father to walk her down the aisle but does not know who he is. After reading an old diary of her mothers she realizes three men could be the missing Dad and sends invites to her wedding supposedly from Donna her mother. All three men accept and the rest of the musical is the wedding planning and falling in love and following dreams.

Chicago is a 1975 American musical. 10 My Fair Lady
My Fair Lady is a musical based on George Bernard Shaw's 1913 play Pygmalion. The story concerns Eliza Doolittle, a Cockney flower girl who takes speech lessons from professor Henry Higgins, a phonetician, so that she may pass as a lady.
