Salomon Melchisedek | 4 comments Feminist philosophy in my knowledge started around 1890. I might be mistaken but the main figures for me is Emma Watson and Simone de Beauvoir.
Emma Watson has traversed miles and miles to explain some basic facts about womanism and feminism. We are just learning her philosophy. Her philosophy started years ago but it's lately that people recognise her as what she is.
I wanted to asked dear readers, what aspect of feminist philosophy do you like?

Judith White | 1 comments My favorite aspect of feminist philosophy - now that voting, equal pay, and equal access to credit, etc., have been addressed - is the recovery of women’s history: the bronze drums of Vietnam; Hepatia - the head librarian and renowned scholar at the Library at Alexandra; the many significant/ground-breaking discoveries of women biologists, geneticists, geologists, chemists, physicists, and astrophysicists et al; the women’s voices in literature, the media; our extraordinary women athletes … the view of a matriarchal prehistory for our species. We have much to recover!

Debbyanne Southwell | 22 comments It is great that we can celebrate equal rights for women! Still some way to go though as change takes time but we are getting there!

We have to celebrate feminist philosophy whenever we can. Hypatia!

Julia Winter | 1 comments Has anyone read any contemporary feminist novels they would recommend? I’m particularly looking for novels that address how girls and boys are socialised into gender roles from a young age and also on how the patriarchal economy is rigged against mothers.
