I will say the ending did disappoint me in two ways. The first being that (view spoiler)[Edmunds wasn’t the killer, and I know how cliched that would’ve felt in the book, but I feel like there were a lot of times that Edmunds sneaking around and manipulating all the information to put the blame on Wolf would’ve been so entertaining. I think having an outside bad guy come in at the end of a book that’s a “ah ha I’ve been here the whole time but you couldn’t guess me because I didn't exist until now,” has always been upsetting to me because I feel like it’s unfair. (hide spoiler)] The second being that (view spoiler)[the ending was never really resolved. I’m not asking for a happy ending. If both Baxter and Wolf ended up dying in the end, I would’ve been fine with that because that means I’m not searching for an ending in the second or even third book (who’s to say this won’t be drawn out to book three for the sake of money making).
