Christabelle (christabelleallestad) | 150 comments Hello All! Who here is in the midst of back-to-school routines? While we will certainly miss the warmer days and laziness of summer, we are also looking forward to the comfort of routines. August found only two shorter reads at my house Teaching From Rest and Love-Centered Parenting. John Steinbeck graced my audio reader briefly as East of Eden is a book with a name taken from a Bible Verse, but it’s 25hrs to listen to and will take a bit to finish. Anyone else have a longer book they are attempting to get through? How y’all doing with your challenges? Here’s to a fall full of reading!

Amy (amylangmaack) | 8 comments Hey there! We've been doing homeschool since mid-July (my kiddo wanted to start early because I told her I'd give her time back throughout the year if we started early. And it's too hot to be out in Texas heat anyway!), but we're still working to find a good rhythm where I can get good reading done!

I finished several books from my list in August, but find myself still a bit behind overall for the 104 books I want to try and finish! I was hoping to finish a couple this week since I was off work, but a puppy health crisis (she's fine now!) interrupted my plans!

I just started my book by Francis Schaeffer on audio. And have several other audios queued up from the library as well.

I"m also reading Steeped in Stories for my book on hobbies, as it works for my book club pick for September. And hoping to finish The Ragamuffin Gospel, Gentle + Lowly, and a bible commentary book to at least finish the first section of the challenge. I've been reading as things grab my attention, but I think if I want to finish, or see how far I can get, I need to start reading in order a bit. ;) We'll see if I wholly stick to that this month!

Amber Thiessen (amber_thiessen) | 69 comments We start back to school next week, so we've got a few more days of un-routine til we get busy again.

I'm doing okay for the challenge, I'm at 36 of 52. I find other books creeping into my shelf a little too easily. I'm working through Fasting, Prayer, and Humiliation for Sin as a book over 100 years old and How to Inhabit Time: Understanding the Past, Facing the Future, Living Faithfully Now as an EPCA bestseller. These have both been kinda slow going.

Amy, which Schaeffer book are you doing?

I listened to Escape from Reason. It was one of the few I could get from the library and I did the audio. It was a quick 3 hour (ish) read!

Ian | 95 comments Oh right.... school starts soon....

I just finished Inner Threat by Tom Harper as a Christian Living book: it gave a parable on reacting to massive problems at work and enjoyed it. I am the middle of Charity and Its Fruit by Jonathon Edwards for my Puritan author. I have got Make Room for Joy by Vanessa Joy Walker for fruit of the spirit in the box.

For massive books, I got Brothers Karamazov by Dostoyevsky for book by a Russian which is going to clock into 39 hours.

Chris Martin (martincr70) | 9 comments My wife and I had our first child in July and it has taken a good 2 months to find a routine that includes a decent level of reading again. I have read Disability Visibility by Alice Wong (I don't recommend it) and am getting back into Bully Pulpit: Confronting the Problem of Spiritual Abuse in the Church and Gentle and Lowly: The Heart of Christ for Sinners and Sufferers.

I've also been listening to HOURS of classical music as part of the book, Classical Music 101: A Complete Guide to Learning and Loving Classical Music. I can't wait to check that one off my list.

My next book will probably be The Rare Jewel of Christian Contentment.
