My Group discussion

Nico leads Lana up the stairs then walks to the tower balcony. He looks up at the sky, which was a dark midnight blue with stars dotting the sky.

She walks in a circle around the top of the tower, looking up as well. “I don’t really look at the stars much, besides Astronomy. It’s pretty.”

“I come up here to draw every once in a while.” Nico says. “Though mostly I’m just here to get away from other people.”

“Makes since. People in general aren’t my thing, either.” She sits cross-legged on the ground.

Nico sits down beside her, his arms around his bent legs.

Lana smiles and continues staring up at the sky. “Do you know many constellations?”

“I know a little but not much.” He says. “What about you?”

“Same.” She took out her wand, and twirled it a few times. Bluebell flames hopped up and down around them.

Nico smiles, his eyes on the flames dancing around them.

Lana let them dissolve with a flick over wand, and then looked around. “Ooh! Can you cast a patronus?”

“Yes,” Nico says.

“Expecto Patronum.” Lana mutters. A rolling and leaping silvery fox soars around them.

Nico smiles and watches the fox hopping around them.

“What’s yours?” Lana asks, as the fox halts beside her and disappears.

Nico pulls out his wand. “Expecto Patronum.” Nico mutters. A silvery grayish stag jumps out of Nico’s wand and hops around Lana and Nico.

Lana looks at it, smiling softly. “I love patronus’s. They’re so pretty.”

“They are.” Nico agrees, as the stag stops then disappears.

“I learned how to cast one last year. I kind of taught myself. It’s really hard.” She said.

“I learned last year,” He says. “It took a month for me to be able to cast one, mostly because I had a hard time finding my happiest memory.”

“Yeah.” She shuddered slightly, but then smiled. “It took me three months, and I kept passing out.”

“What was your happiest memory that you used to cast your patronus?” Nico asks.

She paled, but barely noticeably. “Getting my Hogwarts letter.”

“That was mine too.” Nico says. He was lying, though no one except his parents could ever tell when Nico was lying.

Lana nodded, her eyes not meeting his.

Nico stared up at the sky, which was now a dark blackish blue stars shining even brighter.

Lana stood up and walked over to the railing, smiling a bit again. “You know, I usually hate really tall heights, but this isn’t bad. It’s too pretty to be afraid of.”

Nico walks over to where Lana is. “Yeah, but I don’t really hate heights, I just hate the idea of falling off them.”

Lana makes a little noise in her throat and she noticeably tightens her grip on the railing.

“You okay?” He asks, noticing her tightening grip on the railing.

“Yeah. I guess it being pretty doesn’t get rid of all fear.” She smiles a bit, but doesn’t look too bothered.

Nico looks down towards the black lake, which was sparkling because of the night sky.

Lana watches him, and then reaches up to her hair, pulling out a few pins. “You have no idea how itchy that was.”

Nico laughs.

“I really don’t get how some girls do that every day.” She smiles.

“I’m just glad i don’t have to do all that.” He smiles.

“If I had known it would itch and be annoying, I wouldn’t have.” She grinned and shook out her hair, so that the red mane trailed town her back again.

Nico smiles at the sight of Lana’s long hair.

She examines her hair, pulling some of it in front of her face. “Now it’s all tangled.” She smoothed it back and shrugged.

“It still looks nice.” He says.

“Really? Thanks.” She smiled again.

Nico smiles then looks at the sky, it was almost entirely black, the stars shining even brighter now.

Lana hums sweetly and kind of dances around the tower, smiling. It was obvious how much she had come out of her shell since they had met, and she seemed quite comfortable.

Nico smiled a little bigger, then hummed along, watching Lana dance.
