Well not sure you know but Agatha Frost is our very own Ashley John from Boss fame .He hasnt written any MM books since AF started and you cant seem to get them from Amazon either so i suppose hes doing ok from this new direction
Good morning, Janeylou ☕️I didn't have much time yesterday and only got to about 30%. So far I find it quite nice to read. Something different from our usual reads for a change, different writing style and atmosphere.

Oh, I didn't know that! Too bad he's not writing mm romance anymore, but what he's publishing now is probably more lucrative.
The writing is a little too desriptive for me ...She ducked into her vintage aqua blue Ford Anglia, dumping her handbag on the back seat, and her cake on the front. As though it was a small child, she pulled the seatbelt across the box before slotting her keys into the ignition. The car eased into first and she set off down the winding lane towards the heart of the village.
Do we need all that information 🤔
Just finished chapter 1 and think i can guess who gets murdered 😄
I thought that everything is described in way too much detail at the beginning too, but it has become much less. ....or I got used to it... 🤔😂
Done! Nice story, it was entertaining and exciting enough to keep my interest. I'm just not sure about Gertrude's age. She was described elderly but wouldn't she have to be already in her nineties to match the time frame? Impressive that she was still this active and playing the church organ.
I can imagine reading more volumes. Not all books in a row, but here and there one in between for a change.
Some recipes of all those delicious sounding cakes would be great! 🍰😊
Im gettig there , been out on a cruise along the river today , so not much reading .At 80% , just found out murderer but wondering what else can happen.
This Julia is a bit of a smarty pants , but once again we are not given the same information
Finished ...27 books in 6 years thats 1 every 3 months , so hoping its not same plkt different charaters ...It was ok , not a lot of depth , she seems to have a habit of seeing some vital information lying around or casually reading someones elses notes that helps her to quickly solve the mystery .
Would read another if needed for a challenge
I just finished it. I really enjoyed all the descriptions, but I have to say, the narrator's voice probably had a lot to do with that. She puts a nice emphasis into talking about the baked goods and the folks in the village. She also did a nice job with all the different voices and accents.
I'm a big fan of cozy mysteries, and I really enjoyed this one. I like the author a lot, and the rest of the series is available at my library so I'm going to continue with them.I don't think I need spoilers now since we've all finished it.
I'm adopted, so I kind of enjoyed that angle. And I thought the twists and turns in the story kept the pace moving at a good speed for me.
Janeylou wrote: "It reminds me of an english village in midsomer murders where they are all gossiping all the time 😄"exactly!
I'm sure you've read M.C. Beaton, but it did remind me a bit of their stories.
