Addicted to Ink discussion

This month's read-a-thon will run from March 20 to 27 and the theme is FANTASY, including its sub-genres. You can update your progress throughout the week in this thread as well as on social media using #inkathon.

For now (since the read-a-thon doesn't start until tomorrow) comment below some of the books you are planning on reading.

Glad that you're joining us! I'm planning on reading The Demon King, Daughter of Smoke & Bone, and Days of Blood & Starlight.

I'm almost done with Prisoner of Night and Fog which technically isn't fantasy but I really want to finish it before moving on. Then I think I'll do The Bone Season & The Archived. I'd like to read Princess of Thorns too before I have to take it back to the library. I'm taking a big exam for my teaching credentials on Saturday though so I might not get a lot of reading done till after I take that.

Both of those are pretty good, I really loved The Archived!

I'm thinking Red Queen, Falling Kingdoms, The Demon King, and Dead of Winter.

Besides those, I've been wanting to reread a few series so I might fit them in. If not, I'll just starting picking fantasy books out of my TBR pile haha

I don't really own any high fantasy books so I am just going to be reading Harry Potter and the chamber of secrets and city of heavenly fire as these are both series I need to catch up on.

That's totally fine because we made the theme fantasy in general, so it's not limited to just high-fantasy :)

How did Day 1 go for everyone?

I finally finished Of Beast and Beauty today. I know the read-along is over already, but I fell behind with reading it.

I didn't get to read that much so I am going to try and read more today!

I read Red Queen and now I'm starting Dead of Winter!

I would say that Divergent is more sci-fi/dystopian, but you can still read it if you'd like. Right now I'm about to start Since You've Been Gone for a buddy read, which is contemporary and nowhere near fantasy.

Well good news is I passed my test so I can read this weekend! I'm going to finish Prisoner of Night & Fog tonight and then I'm going to start the Archived!!!

How did Days 2 & 3 go for everyone?

I've finished The Orphan Queen, Red Queen, Dead of Winter, and I'm almost done with Talon now :)

I just finished Crown of Midnight. I have no words...

Finished Zac and Mia, onto Since You've Been Gone....but neither of these is fantasy. Been on a contemporary roll. Need to change.

I LOVED it!!! although certain parts did kill me a tiny bit and my mind was totally blown at that ending, literally only figured it out half a page before Chaol did.

Sadly I have to wait for Heir of Fire to arrive in the post and it is actually killing me- I NEED IT NOW!!

I'm actually going to Comicon tomorrow so I won't be reading much today or tomorrow...

I've been reading Since You've Been Gone which is contemporary, but I might pick up a fantasy book tomorrow for the last day of the read-a-thon.

HEIR OF FIRE ARRIVED TODAY!! Unfortunately I've been super busy so I haven't been able to read much of it but I'm really liking it so far! :D

Oh man, I was totally unproductive with my reading this week, bc of in-between-semesters-work, mom on vacation and taking care of little brother + dog :/
Only managed The Curse Giver and the first Mistborn Kinder des Nebels...

How did the last day go for everyone? What books did you guys end up reading?

This read-a-thon was kind of unsuccessful for me because I just didn't read a lot this week and I wasn't really in the mood for fantasy, oops. I finished Of Beast and Beauty on the first day (which is kind of fantasy) and then I almost finished Since You've Been Gone (which is contemporary).

I feel like I was pretty unproductive too, just because I ended up having a lot going on that took up my reading time... But I still managed to read 4 books.

This week was horrible for me!!! I have been so busy with work and school I had zero time or motivation to read. I think a summer read-a-thon would be better, especially for me. I'm day dreaming about sitting by the pool with my book!

I only managed to finish one book and read 120-140 pages of two others.. still pretty good considering how little free time I had this week though :)
