Murder of Crows discussion

Peter Swanson has always been a solid writer and this series is no different. Overall, it was enjoyable with the twists and turns in the book and even though they weren’t overly dramatic with some you could see coming, it didn’t cheapen the book at all.

This series also had a large amount of coincidences that couldn’t just happen out of chance. The characters seem to know a little too much, they make wild assumptions that just happen to be right, and they make half thought out plans that go off without a hitch. Again it didn’t make me hate the series (and that may be because I like the writing style of the author), but it is a little annoying to have the perfect plot with the perfect characters.

The two books in this series could be interchangeable. They both had the same idea (view spoiler)[of a woman killing throughout her life, and the same man figuring it out and tracking down the facts. It also doesn’t help that Joan and Lily are very similar characters. (hide spoiler)] I think either plot could’ve been used for either book with a few tweaks and the book duo still would’ve made sense and been just as good.
