The Valiant Scouts explores interesting episodes in the history of the Frontier Corps of Pakistan. This dynamic organization not only defends the North Western Frontier of Pakistan, but is also responsible for maintenance of law and order in the Frontier region.

While a more detailed history of the force is presented in the author's previous book "The Guardians of the Frontier: The Frontier Corps, N.W.F.P", certain historical aspects and events had been left out. This book provides supplemental articles and historical anecdotes to extend the previous book.

Major Muhammad Nawaz Khan replaced his sword with a pen to write the history of the Frontier region, and the Frontier Corps. Since he himself hailed from the same region, being an ethnic Pathan (Pukhtoon), and being a part of the Frontier Corps, he was the most qualified person to write this book. However, much has happened in the frontier regions of Pakistan and the story of the Valiant Scouts continues.
