Allergies have really wiped me out the last couple of days, so I’m behind. Hopefully will feel better by tomorrow and can catch up.
So I fell asleep last night at 8:00, and woke up early this morning feeling a little better, and I was able to read to ch4 also. I did wonder also about the police chief reference and whether we’d hear about the events of the other book. (view spoiler)
oh wow. I would love to go to bed nice and early...lol. But 10 or 1030 is earliest for me. I'm fighting a runny nose and sneezing now. Woke up with a sore throat. I'm glad you are feeling better. I'm prob just gonna read ch4 today. Other than the fire I don't think we will hear about the occult from the other book, though I do find it neat that he's mentioned those characters. I'm really at a loss about what is going on with the children, but it sure is creepy.
Haha! Now it's my turn to be sick. Had a fever last night so I'm not going into work. Still, I may do some reading today.
Well that stinks! I’m still stuffy and have a sinus headache, but otherwise good. I normally don’t fall asleep as early as I did the other day, but that extra sleep helped. Hope you feel better quick. I did read up to ch 5. Saw another reference to Natalie from book one.
I read to ch6. I'm feeling a bit better but last night I had the worst sinus headache I had to go lay in bed until I fell asleep. I'm hoping one more day and I can fight whatever this is. (view spoiler)
I am finally feeling all the way better now - took me long enough. Glad you are too. I made it up to ch 7 and I’m in the same boat. (view spoiler)

I just made it to ch8. (view spoiler)
No. I didn't try the glue. I decided not to mess with it. I have a couple of pages that are completely loose. lol. Oh well. I did read to ch 9(view spoiler)
Well, I didn't make any progress over this past weekend, so I'm still sitting almost at the end of ch9. I should be able to finish 9 and get up to ch11 by the end of the day today (I hope!)
Addy wrote: "I read to ch10[spoilers removed]"This is just like book 1 in terms of being this far along and still not really knowing anything about what the under story is going on here.
Yes. I agree. I read to ch12. I could probably finish it today. I feel like I still don't have any answers. I hope he doesn't end it abruptly without really explaining what was going on. I mean, I'm pretty sure he will but there is still that uncertainty.

I finished earlier today as well. It was a little disappointing. I wish there was more to the ritual that could have been explained. However, I do feel like this is Charles's formula. I don't mind it now that I know what to expect. His writing is kind of beautiful and I like trying to guess the outcome. I wouldn't mind continuing the series. Maybe in November if u are up to it. I would have to find a copy of The Sound of Mourning I think. Let me know!
Also, i was thinking that if we knew earlier about what was going on or the characters had a way of telling the police...there wouldn't be a series. I think everything that happens only happens to a few so that he can continue the series and it leaves the town knowing nothing so that something sinister can keep butting its head to innocent ppl and no one would know the difference.
