Ready to Ship discussion

I've started and it's going smooth, easy to read. But i have such a feeling like the book is telling me "now i will teach you, be ready". And I'm not sure i like that

I feel like the book should touch my emotions deeply but it doesn't

apparently it's a real story! it's a biography, not a fiction. I was surprised to learn that

and I'm feeling judged while reading this book

In the first chapter, the Author has used 'as if' 4 times in 3 paragraphs. Twice in one paragraph. I can already see the Author is telling not showing

page 3: "..as if a strong wind.."
page 4: "..as if someone had just punched them in.."

"...as if you'd just told him.."

"..as if I were the parent.."

Shameful...
