Nothing But Reading Challenges discussion

How to Participate:

The Audiobook Challenge is designed to not only help you to read your audiobooks, but to also find out about other great audiobooks from other challenge participants!

Though you may pop in/out at any time, the Audiobook Challenge will run on a monthly basis so you are able to see progress being made.

There are no minimum page requirements, and you can read abridged or unabridged audiobooks!


1. At the beginning of the month, post :
a: How many audiobooks in total you want to read for the month
b: How many audiobooks in the monthly category you want to read
c: Post the audiobooks (as you decide on them) by linking them to Goodreads in your post

2. During the month, read the audiobooks that you can AND update your post with your reviews. (You can do this after each book or wait until the end of the month.)

3. At the end of the month, update your post and with:
a: What books you read
b: Link(s) to your review(s) - note: can only be linked to Goodreads and not an external site
c: How many audiobooks you have read for this challenge this year


Then start a new post for the next month!

Great story about women, culture and love set in Nigeria. I loved the characters and the setting, and the audio narrator was great with the different voices and bringing the story to life (hide spoiler)]

And the 2 books I just checked for ratings are 4.09 and 4.19. How frustrating is that?!!! lol

Checking my TBR, my choices seem rather limited. But so far, I have found 2 books that are just above the 4.2 line.

And also, lots of things depends on Wheel 8 ....

-- This is a really long audiobook but it is really good

I managed to listen to 2 books from this category and the result is 50-50% so far. :)

1.
I cordially disliked From Lukov with Love by Mariana Zapata, so obviously I am not agreeing with the average 4.26 GR rating.
My -supergenerous- 3-star rating did not make the slightest dent in the long run, not that I wanted it to. :D I get that Zapata is a massively popular author, but her books are not really for me.

2.
Unruly: The Ridiculous History of England's Kings and Queens by David Mitchell

Now I am wholly behind this 4.24 rating. This book was so much fun.
I love David Mitchell and I absolutely enjoyed this Horrible Histories rendition of England's Kings and Queens. Gave it 4 stars.
He only went until the Tudors. I really hope he decides to continue with the storytelling. :)

It was tremendous fun. I don't often participate in BOMs and it is definitely the first time I gave a BOM book 5 (4,5) stars. 😀

I'm really looking forward to that one. Scalzi is so much fun!

Nice! It looked fun, but I couldn't get it from my libraries. I need to get my audible credit for the month ;0

I think it's only available through Audible everywhere, Karen. It'll be a good one for next month's theme though!

That'll do it for me for this month. I finished two:

I enjoyed them both. Off to find a read or two for next month.
